last 10 games vs NCAA tournament run

I don't think anyone saw this tournament run coming and what a ride it was!! So, what changed from the last 10 pre-ncaa games where Iowa lost 7 of 10 to the tournament run? Maybe something about the tournament format fits Ben's strategic approach?
Yeah, so much for the age old theory that you want to be peaking at the end of the regular season…🤪

B1G officiating is much, much worse than what we saw in tourney play. But also, Alvaro is some kind of crazy wild card player that will score either 0 or 20 points and the quality of opponent doesn't matter (He scored 0 @ Minnesota and Maryland). He is a literal roll of the dice.

I agree that AF was a big factor. He showed flashes of potential during the season but very inconsistent. Then he played really well the first 3 games of the tourney. Not sure what was going on against Ill. He made some mental errors and I don't think Ben liked what he saw with rebounding when AF was in there so he went away from him. Definitely an X factor player for Iowa. Will be interesting to see if he sticks around.
