I hope our portal PG is not another one year guy

Hell of a ride. Last 8 days have been a **** ton of fun. Future is bright. Can’t wait to get to carver again next fall and winter.Best season in 39 years! Memories made.
Thank you Beth; you got us the right coach!
This is just the beginning.
GO HAWKS!!!

Tonight those of us that said the Elite Eight was the absolute ceiling for this team are vindicated.
No excuse for the rebounding. Cost them the final four. They played tough and had a great run. So pissed to lose that way though since rebounding should never be that lopsided.
Yeah, it stings that people will see this score 10,20 years from now and think we got schooled…Honestly sans the last 4 minutes, the game was fun.
What was Bennett Stirtz thinking as the final seconds of his college career ran out?
“That this was all going to be over. It was tough. Obviously you want to get to the Final Four and win the whole thing. Everything comes to an end at a point, and you’ve got to be thankful. Nothing’s going to satisfy you in life except for God. That’s why I’m thankful that I put my trust in Him.”

If this is Ben's "feeling out this high major stuff" year, then what is the ceiling???
It’s funny how you can recognize the weaknesses before the season starts it just isn’t a matter of time before it catches up with you. Proud of how the team competed when it mattered.Rebounds and points in the paint was the killer.
It wasn’t a lack of effort. Many of those rebounds were simply their guys were taller than ours. I figured that was going to be a problem all season and it was against the elite teams. They just didn’t have the horses for that element of the game.No excuse for the rebounding. Cost them the final four. They played tough and had a great run. I don't want it to be over
Hell of a run and exceeded all expectations. March is so much more fun when you have a team making a run, hopefully many more to come.
The obvious answer is a big. But for me, another PG like Stirtz is a must too if you want to get to the final four. IMO elite pg play is the most important ingredient to have in the tourney that matters. When you think about when we have coming back, what do we need from the portal to get us over the hump & to the Final Four?

Not to mention it took us some clutch plays down the stretch in the previous two games to just get this far. You need the right players who aren’t afraid of those moments and the ball to bounce right in a few of those scenarios as well.Every team will be eliminated, except for one, 9 short days from now.
It was quite the ride; hopefully we get much further next season. The problem is that teams are really, really good once you make the Sweet 16.
Same, but I think falling in love with the team will be common under Ben. He's a damn good coach and knows how to get max effort out of his guys. Sometimes you fall short, but it's a breath of fresh air seeing the guys leave it all out there.I didn’t expect to get this attached to a team in the NIL/portal era like I did. I figured when guys have been here since their freshman year, they would just feel more like true Hawkeyes to me. But I love this team and I’ll never forget them. Hopefully the ones with eligibility are here until it’s used up.
Bennett Stirtz is one I’m really going to miss—not just for his play, but the way he carries himself. You don’t see too many guys, or gals for that matter, with that kind of humility and quiet confidence anymore. Wish we could have him for at least another year. He exemplifies everything it means to be a Hawkeye. Forever grateful for this team, and thankful Bennett chose to be a Hawkeye for his one year in D1.

4 national championships. If this is Ben's "feeling out this high major stuff" year, then what is the ceiling???
This is so good.
Seeing Purdue go down in the Elite-8 and MSU down in the sweet-16 certainly puts what Iowa did in YEAR ONE into perspective.
WHAT A RIDE.
This IOWA team poster is going into a frame this week and staying there forever
