Coaches investigated by the FBI are hired by SEC schools. Chris Beard hired by Ole Miss. And here we are playing patsies. Holier than thou Mitch would never hire these guys and here Texas is on the verge of the E8. Meanwhile our nice guy coach lost 14 games and many of them were blowouts. Truly pathetic how our athletics program has been run.

Mitch is a total pathetic piece of **** AD he has been for 24 years nothing has changed.... Let's all just hope no one close to him steps in next...
Sad thing is we wouldn’t have even gotten Cal had it been up to him. I miss having the guys in the right places to make sure these Pope type hires never happen again.

do you know that the pillow was not a toy? Do you know that go get your bone? After Billy G/Stoops contract/Cals extension it’s remarkable how long he’s kept his job.

No other major power 4 AD would keep their job anywhere close to that long as he did.

TX, NC st and Ole Miss aren't exactly a good teams, but I get what you're saying.
Well Miller and Wade were in their first years. Beard had a bad year but he has a track record of success. Meanwhile, Pope has a mediocre resume his whole career and here he is at the supposed top basketball school. Through two years at UK his overall record is about par for his career. It’s really sad.

How many Pope and Mitch hate threads are you guys gonna start. Gotta be close to 100 already between 8 of you guys.
I don’t know about Pope, but Mitch deserves to be in prison for stuffing his wallets with public money. He deserves be kicked out of the state by an angry mob and told to never return. We could post 100 hate threads on Mitch Barnhart a day for a decade and it still wouldn’t be enough to absolve his guilty *** who knowingly hiring a rapist as a swim coach or the underhanded payments he’s gotten from the likes of JMI to sell a public university’s sports program. When he dies I hope he burns in hell. Sanctimonious, immoral jackass who has profited off Kentuckians’ misery.

And the only coach to have 2 Final Fours vacated has been hired by 2 SEC schools.

Not disagreement with any of that, but currently, all 3 schools weren't exactly good this year. Will those guys be able to recruit well enough going forward given their histories, or will they continue to be average? That remains to be seen.

Sean miller has been a head coach for 22 years and hasn’t made a final 4. Will wade for 12 or 13 and his best finish is a sweet 16. For the record I think Miller is a really good coach. This fascination with Will Wade fascinates me. Must be big fans of alliteration. But aren’t the main gripes about Pope is he didn’t have the resume for the job? You would have been happy with one of these 2?

Well, Texas made it to the sweet 16 (and lost on a last second shot) and Ole Miss made it further than we did in the SEC tournament so not sure what that makes UK.

Beard won’t because Ole Miss spends all their money on football.

We're horrible. However, we did beat both of those teams. TX was 9-9 in the conference and finished 10th. Ole Miss was 15th in the SEC at 4-14 and 15-20 overall. They didn't even make the NCAA tournament.

Miller won 74 percent of his games at Arizona. He won the PAC12 5 times. And he won 30+ games four seasons.

Pope’s career highlight is a 6th place finish in the B12.

Would you have been happy with Miller this season? Personally I think he’s a really good coach and would have been ok with us hiring him. But his first year at Texas was worse than Popes first at UK.

Miller has a higher ceiling for sure, he just always couldn’t get past the Elite 8. Like he was really good, but not elite.

Oh Mitch likes to act like a fine God fearing man but I believe he's a piece of Trash, why would he be taking our University by taking $950,000 a year for doing nothing?

Same thing I've thought every time Miller's name has been brought up. Coached many years with talented players and what has he ever won? Will Wade, are we really that desperate to hire a slimy coach like him to be part of UK 's illustrious program? Shake my head when I hear UK fans wanting guys like these two.

Bored and looked up Miller's performance in the NCAAT while at UofA. I would say on the numbers, put him a rung below "very good", even. Most of his teams finished worse than preseason rank, and he usually did worse than he should have in the NCAAT. I would call Mark Few a "very good" coach -- he knocked on the door enough times and broke through to the FF eventually. Miller didn't really get to the EE consistently enough, let alone FF.

Would say Miller is a "good" coach.

My coaching ladder goes: Elite -> Very Good -> Good -> Average -> Mark Poop -> A Normal Bad Coach -> Kenny Payne

Quit trying to police the board with your little puss minority bs. Nobody cares what you think about pope and Mitch. They both need to be out of here.
I'm not policing anything. Your name calling and constant negativity is tiring to me and everyone else. Grow up little man. You are the minority here. You're just trying to bring everyone else down to your level of miserable childishness. It's pathetic.

I really am afraid it’s going to be Hill, no way Mitch isn’t a huge part of the hiring process since Eli gave him the golden parachute. I wish he would retire and go back to Oregon, he’s done enough to the basketball program in his life.

Kentucky is run by sanctimonious, holier-than-thou good ole’ boys who are currently stealing money from our program to pocket. We are literally being run like some super church right now.
If you think caputo and MB were good ol boys….lol.
they turn up their pinky when sipping tea.
good ol boys, would have basketball and football in much better shape.

I never said I wanted these two. Are they more qualified than Pope to get a job like UK? Absolutely.

Made a huge mistake having his big man on the bench last possession.

Nope, the majority aren't continually posting threads about not wanting or liking them. Big difference.
Just my opinion, but:
1. I think the majority can't stand mitch and believe he is corrupt.
2. The fan base is probably split on Pope, with some thinking he has to go now regardless of injuries and JMI contractual issues, and others thinking he needs one more injury free season to show if he is the right guy for the job(along with figuring out if recruiting issues are all pope or JMI or combination of both)

Sean Miller should have been on our short list. Mitch was too prideful and refused to look at him and Pearl. Things are different now with pay to play. And Texas looked pretty damn good this month, was 10 seconds from going to the Elite 8. Miller can coach.
And Miller seems to be easy to understand in his postgame remarks instead of the blah blah blah from Pope.
