I’ll toss in one that hasn’t been mentioned. My favorite team and team that got me hooked on UK basketball. 2004-05. They took on Utah with Andrew Bogut the first pick. Tubby tossed his 7 footers at him to try wear him down. That’s also the game Ramel Bradley got in his face

I'd have to call it a tie for #1 between Wake '93 and OSU '11. The Wake game was a Rick Pitino masterpiece. OSU had been anointed national champs when the brackets came out. Both were supercharged dubs.

Utah fans probably hate our guts and I don't blame them. We stopped them in the tournament so many times under Majerus. The committee always kept putting us together. The one year that seemingly didn't happen and Majerus made the final...only to lose to the Comeback Cats.

I looked online and there was an article how Kentucky knocked them out 6 times in 12 seasons. That’s insane

Cats overcome a 5 point halftime deficit and 52 points by Austin Carr to get the win behind Issel’s 44 points. The beauty of this game? My dad and I were glued to the radio because it wasn’t televised on any of the three channels we got back then. 😎

OSU by a mile. Brandon Knight's dagger and Jorts' ball slam. I had an OSU fan coworker who'd been talking trash all week. I said nothing and the next morning I got to work early and tacked a COLOR printout in his cubicle of Brandon releasing the shot, and waited for him to arrive. I knew he saw it when I heard "WHAT THE F**K?" I started giggling and couldn't stop all day.

Vs. Louisville in 14?
Vs Indiana in 12?
Vs West Virginia in 15?
Vs Louisville in 84?
Vs Ohio State in 11?
Vs Wake Forest in 93?
I’m partial to the top 2 as I was able to attend those, but have great memories of watching the others on tv.
I’d give the edge to the 2014 victory over UofL. I’ll never forget how electric it was when we won. What a game. It was glorious!!!! Honestly one of the happiest moments of my life. My avatar is the final scoreboard.
Great memories!!!

LOVED that game! 73 against Austin Peay was awesome as well.

As for more recent wins, I'll go with OSU.

2012 IU revenge game is a fond memory of mine. Shut them the hell up after mouthing off all year.

It was really ridiculous that IU was in our bracket anyway. The committee was definitely hoping we'd get knocked out by IU. It was a high scoring game and I honestly think IU could've gone further in the tournament if they weren't in our part of the bracket.

Tom Crean gets a lot of hate on this board and he is a weird guy but I still think IU made a terrible mistake firing him. And they still haven't had a level of success that he brought to the table in his time there.

Surprised more people haven't said this one. We won the title in 12. They won it in 13. This was Ali-Frazier III

Honestly, we stole a title from Louisville in that '14 game. I think if they won they may have gone all the way. That Cardinals team wrecked UConn twice that season and I'm sure Pitino would've run circles around Kevin Ollie in the final.

Ohio State because literally no one was giving us a chance. Ohio State was the dominant team that year. They'd only lost once in the regular season and in their conference championship game. A little personal I got my dog that day and he's still up and kicking. I thought that last shot from Buford sp? looked like it was going in and I had to turn my head. I remember Nance saying some form of "no he missed it, the wildcats have took out the #1 overall seed."

I've gotta give Louisville 2014 a nod because it triggered, literally, the largest meltdown on the Internet I've ever seen. I know some of you remember it omg. They were absolutely losing it. Plus I never felt like we were gonna win that game after it started. Willie tears whatever it was and we were down 18-5 in the blink of an eye. We'd battle back and tie it and they'd stretch out a 7 point lead. We were down 7 with 4:29 left in the game. Without Dakari balling out we lose. Young couldn't guard a chair to save his life that night and fouled out. Clutch Aaron was born. You could really pick any of those because they are all unique.

Houston 2019 deserves an honorable mention.

UL ‘84 was huge bc of what was at stake that year. That team had to make a final 4. I’m sure Hall was pretty nervous about that one bc UL had improved so much since the opening game of season when UK blew them out. I remember this one well… nervous and relieved when it was done!

Wake ‘93 is pretty hard to beat, bc that game was an offensive display I’d never really seen to start a game. I thought Al McGuire was going to have a heart attack calling that game.

IU ‘12 was important, bc it avenged the only regular season loss. That was a critically important win that many gloss over. Not just bc it was the title team but beating them by double digits in March was very satisfying.

UL ‘14 might take the cake though. UL was going to likely repeat and I thought bc how our team was comprised (big guards and size in post)it was the one matchup UL couldn’t handle. That was a great win bc it propelled us forward and ended UL having an real shot at a title to this very day.
