This is exactly why St. Johns is better coached. I don't know how we beat them. Oh wait, JQ played well.

Anyways, I love this half game speech by Rick.

Usually after most missed shots, Oweh and a few others would whine they missed and beg ref for a foul instead of getting back on defense.

I wish Pitino would have never left and wore a daggum belt.

This guy would have had 4 titles if he stayed. No Tubby, no Billy Clyde.

Most of you would love this mentality at Kentucky right now.

I honestly think he threw Pope a bone in that game this year just saying...

The man certainly practices what he preaches. No coach claws his way back from career adversity quite like Pitino. When people declare him done he just fights back harder.

I think this makes sense to me as well after looking back at it.

How did Pope play for Pitino? It seems like Pope is the polar opposite of Rick's mindset and philosophy.
It makes no sense unless he mellowed out that much in his old age. He always seemed like kind of a dork, but he played with passion as a player. He just not a born leader like that imo. He tries really hard, but you either can motivate people or you can’t.

The majority of the best coaches were bench players. They spent their time watching the game and interacting with coaches. They learned the game but couldn’t play it at the highest levels. They know how to scrap for everything they got which translated to their profession.

Knowing they could afford it I can see it....thought about it already but that's out of the realm of possibility for a lot to believe.

Not like they are in the SEC. They won their conference tournament. I can see him helping out his former player out of pitty.

It's amazing to me how most seem to have forgiven Pitino for doing the unforgivable.

I've softened a lot myself. Shows you time truly can heal all (most) wounds.
Imagine sending your son who is a senior in HS on a recruiting trip and that school providing prostitutes to persuade him to signing with said team. I don’t want anything to do with that head coach and some people want that coach at UK. Unbelievable.

Yet we have Pope saying "what are you scared of" (WTF could that even be referring to?) in a slightly louder voice than normal and love tapping a whiteboard. God that video that is going to air is going to be so embarrassing.

Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone.
