Would this guy be an upgrade over Lowe?

He'd be a strong backup PG. His ASSIST/TO ratio isn't that good, but that might be a reflection of Oregon. He's an okay 3pt shooter, and he shot it terribly this year. He does like to shoot from deep. He is a good ft shooter.

In the SEC you either need a 6’5” 205 guards or 1 5’11” jitterbug that can get to the rim anytime but also shoot 40% from 3. I would like to have 2 each like Noah had back in the day.

I agree with the 2 posters above. I don't mind Lowe coming back for another year. But, we need his opposite to share the minutes equally next season.

As we all should know, we need more than one point guard.
This. I wish people would stop framing these threads as either this “or” Lowe. I’m instead hoping to add someone “and” Lowe.

Because if there’s anything our recent history should have taught us, it’s that you need to have more than just one legit true point on your roster.

I don't think anyone in the SEC ran a 6'5 pg except DA and he was a combo

That's great in theory.
The problem is getting Lowe and Shelstad to agree and I assume you're talking about having these two and neither has any guarantees.
There's also the cost factor.

IMO they’re very similar level. Shelstad slightly better, Lowe a year in the building and a full offseason in the system last year. Think you want to move up a tier in terms of PG. Especially if still taking a PG off an injury riddled year.

He is a good little player. A little on the small side and had a rough year from three, but he is a gamer. We have started worse lately

I get what you're saying but can we move up a tier?
To me moving up a tier in the portal is basically getting a player with a second round grade.
Idk who those players are yet.
I don't consider anyone currently mocking in the first round as realistic.

Great points. I also try to avoid draft prospects as I don’t think they can take that risk with the most important position(kid legitimately testing the waters).

My guess is including international guys like Ellis for instance that the clear PG tier over Shelstad/Lowe/etc probably will only be like 4-8 names. Pope whiffed hard in that group last year. Can’t afford to this year.

A guy that I think fits as a “creator” for himself and others that isn’t high on draft boards, but also shoots it well, that I have my eye on is Cruz Davis.

I would make him turn down 4M. No way Hofstra is able to keep him imo.

I'm interested to see what Okorie at Stanford does.
He would be worth big money.

How is davis' speed and quickness? Haven't seen him play but numbers look good.
