The thought makes me sick to my stomach but we’re making progress!!

Chicago Bulls’ Billy Donovan has ears for open UNC job: Report

On Tuesday, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan could be headed for the exit door soon. Momentum is building for Donovan to resign his post amid another failed season in Chicago. The Bulls committed to tanking at the trade deadline, and the...

MITCH BARNHART DESTROYED KENTUCKY BASKETBALL!!!

[ComebackCats98]

You won’t convince me he wouldn’t have listened to UK if we would have waited last time. I know people will come along to say he turned us down before and all that jazz. I really think he was open to it after Cal, but we couldn’t dare wait for a two time champion when you have a coach with a 63% win percentage and 0 tournament wins

[Shaudylo]

[true-blue1]

We’re going to give Pope year 3!!!! He’s lost 26 games in two years!!! THIS IS KENTUCKY NOT BYU!!!! HAVE WE LOWERED OUR STANDARDS???!!!

[Anon1760284409]

I’ll take Brad Calipari over pope

[LexingtonThoroughblade]

I will feel sick if Donovan goes to Kansas or UNC. I was arguing here 2 years ago we needed to wait until the Bulls were knocked out to talk to him. Best case is that he resigns, takes a year off, and then we can land him.

[JHBr]

Donovan might be interested in returning to college given college hoops operates like Pro basketball now.

[Hunting9]

I’ll take Brad Calipari over pope

Oh, that stings. But I can see where Pope could learn from Brad. He needs to get a chest tattoo similar to Brad’s only his should say ‘GIVEN .. NOT EARNED’.

[dynastydreamuk]

Mitch barnhart is the devil for what he has done to our basketball program... idiot. This is exactly why we shouldn't do year 3 of pope.... but he has a big contract as its Mitch's specialty...

Hubert Davis never was paid that much and his buyout is like 5 mil. His first contract was only 10 million over 5 years!!!!! That's exactly all pope should have got too and would have crawled to UK for it like Davis did...but Mitch is an idiot, so we have like 17 plus mil buyout plus 1 yr extensions just for sweet 16s adding to buyout.

If Billy D goes to Knsas or UNC**, how bad will that look when it could have been us.

[FatCatMan]

He might be less delusional. Both got their jobs because of nepotism/cronyism.

I bet he wouldn’t say it’s because my players were right handed and not left

I'd rather laugh at the turtle neck mafia drug lord than see Pope squint during a beat down. Brad might even pull a couple recruits.

[Praetorian Cat]

Hopefully he is still unwilling to speak until the Bulls season is officially over. By then UNC will have hired someone else.

[Wildcat Sheli]

There was a recent Thread yesterday and today talking about just that.

Donovan will be a bust. The game is totally different from what he left behind,

If that happens I'll guarantee you I'll be in every day walking with a sign protesting Mitch and Eli..

Hopefully he is still unwilling to speak until the Bulls season is officially over. By then UNC will have had to hire someone else.

Bulls season ends April 12th

I think he will resign before then to become the next coach at UNC. The hits keep coming for BBN!

How so?

[OliverSimmonsTwinBrother]

Probably me coping but his son is the Coach of the Bulls G league team so that may keep him in Chicago.

[Joerupp1]

In Bulls season ends April 12th

The portal closes on the 21st. That could certainly make things difficult or more complicated. They might need to wrap him up before the end of the Bulls season. Donovan has a close relationship with bulls owner Reinsdorf so they may reach a deal and release him early.

Don't be so hard on him. It's not like we're paying him a cool million a year to dance around on our grave or anything.

Thanks . Now I won't be able to sleep until I see Billy Donovan's son's hairline.

He wanted out of college bc he hated recruiting, but hes missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years in the nba so he may be forced to realize hes not good up there. His first season in the nba at okc was really his only good one

You do not have to recruit in college. You just pay players now. Oh wait, we had 22 million and still was not able to get players.

[bbnkat02]

How so?

Are you saying the game hasn't changed at all in the....*checks calendar*.....NINTEEN years he's been gone? Come on man.

He started coaching NBA in 2007. 19.
As I stated in the first post.

The "portal" is just an online database.

When it closes is not nearly as important as when all the good players pick schools.

Supposedly the current UNC GM is still working. So I'm sure he will be talking with agents to keep us in the hunt for players.

He never coached Orlando and went back to Florida. He’s been out of college for 11-12 years I believe
