Same thing happened to Chris Harrison. SUPERSTAR at Tollesboro High School. Simply couldn't miss, hit from everywhere. Gets to UK and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
Jimmer did it in college, and overseas put up crazy numbers. Big difference between those 2
I guess it depends on what you mean by “make it”. 241 NBA games over 6 seasons is a lot more than a lot of college stars get, and him being a career 37% shooter from 3 is definitely what enabled that.
He didn’t last longer or become more of a star pretty simply because that was about his only NBA quality skill. He didn’t have the size to shoot over people at that level, lacked the quickness or passing ability to create for others, and couldn’t guard a fence post.

He might not have been a star, but he lasted 6 seasons in the league, averaged 6PPG across 241 G. That's well over 1k points scored in the NBA. I doubt the Dope's entire alumni, past, present, and future combined, comes close to 1k NBA points. Probably doesn't even come close to 100.
