Boosters Not Happy

So glad to see this. Letter was apparently sent by Brett Setzer, a UK Booster, to Capiluto to reverse the stupid golden parachute deal for Mitch. The letter was well written straight to the heart of the issue. You will have to go the KSR site to read the article but the ball is clearly in the Administrations court and the fact that it happened this is a very bad look for the Administration. Folks aren't happy and this time it's folks that support the Athletic programs with their sizable donations. It will be interesting if the University will see them as knuckleheads as well. Setzer makes a strong argument that BBN deserves much more from this University, rather than being called childish names and brushed off as knuckleheads.

Thank you Tommy for posting the link.
Here’s some more, bud (my Blues Bro):

UK spokesman Jay Blanton said the school had not received the letter as of Monday afternoon.

“However, we respect Mr. Setzer as a valued supporter of our program and hope to meet with him to further understand his concerns,” Blanton said.

How entitled do you have to be to think you can just slip in a $950K per year fake job and no one will notice or care?

Tells me they've been bilking UK for a while.
I appreciate how Setzer stood up for BBN ... and he's right about that. I've always said this program is nothing without BBN, which is special and unappreciated by the knuckleheads in the AD's office. They should call for an audit of the Athletic Department ... there's enough smoke to believe there's probably a fire.

It is very important to speak up right now especially with the AD hire looming.

The dog and pony show of the internal promotion without even seriously considering external candidates is a joke especially if Marc Hill pushed for Pope and the conflict of interest Rachel Baker has to JMI.

Guaranteed corruption. Feels like a mega church preaching nothing but a prosperity gospel.

I’m sending my resume to Brett Setzer tomorrow. I don’t care if he wants me to clean the port—a—johns on his construction sites. That was well said and needed to be said. Well done sir.
He said exactly how we all feel. When the boosters start getting pissed something will get done. When no money is flowing into the program changes will be made.

If I’m a booster and spent big money and it resulted in a 7-seed, round of 32 don’t think I’d be happy. This is not noteworthy.
He’s not upset with Pope though or at least that’s not what this article is about. He’s unhappy with Mitch’s new retirement gig. That I think is a big deal. One thing I think we can all agree on is the new AD hire is huge

Initial takeaway: we live in an era where people actually pretend (I hope) to be offended by being called “knuckleheads.” BBN is full of people desperate to be offended. The therapy bills in this state must be outrageous.
