This is a perfect example of state run propaganda, ladies and gentlemen.
Here, you have an official Press Office for the Governor of the largest state in our Union pushing a defamation campaign against an independent journalist.
What terrible thing did that journalist do? Oh, he exposed hundreds of millions of dollars in welfare fraud in an all but fully Democrat run state.
California is an actual fully Democrat run state, so they are absolutely terrified of independent journalists that aren’t on their side coming in and spoiling all of their fun.
I mean, what if someone actually looks into all of the NGO fraud in California… like where did that $37 billion go that ole Gavin threw at homelessness since 2019 only for homelessness in his state to increase by about 24%?
Seems like a lot of money for some pretty terrible results…
I’m just asking questions guys.
Actually, I’m not.
We are watching a live and self reported coverup by Gavin Newsom’s office unfold in real time, for why else would you be against a journalist exposing fraud?
The Governor’s office should have nothing to worry about from a bit of investigation, right?
The whole state is a giant learing center!
I guess we will never know. Aren’t they trying to pass a law to not report fraud lol.I highly doubt this
California has every built in advantage but is in process of blowing it to hell. The rich people are leaving California and then they will go in the red. This is also not accounting for the billions that is being stolen from the federal government out of California.Funny to act like California sucks when it has a top 5GDP in the entire world, is our nation's breadbasket and contributes $200B more in federal taxes than they receive, by far the most in the nation
but doesn't the donor state fit california's current political philosophy? they're very much into the progressive system..those that have more, pay more for the benefit of those that have less. It would be a little hypocritical to collect revenue on one basis and complain about distributing that revenue on an opposite one.California has every built in advantage but is in process of blowing it to hell. Yes, California is considered a "donor state," typically paying significantly more in federal taxes than it receives in federal spending, funding, and services. Recent data shows Californians paid roughly
billion to
billion more in federal taxes than they received, largely due to high income levels, a progressive tax system, and a large economy.

Key Details on California's Federal Tax Balance:
- Top Donor State: California often ranks as the top "donor state" in absolute dollars, consistently paying more than it receives.
- Recent Figures:In 2024, residents and businesses paid about
billion more to the federal government than they received. A 2023 analysis found California received roughly
billion less than it paid.- Reasons for Donor Status: High per capita incomes, a large number of wealthy residents, and a progressive tax structure (higher earners pay more) result in high federal tax contributions.
- Exceptions: During pandemic-related relief years, the balance shifted slightly, but the state generally remains a net contributor.
- Comparison:While California contributes the most in total dollars, it is one of several states (including New York and New Jersey) that often contribute more than they receive, subsidizing other states with lower tax revenue.
