Oscar. We'll never see that production again
Oweh..he actually made a Sweet 16, he actually won SEC Tournament games, literally won three games at the buzzer for us, etc with far less talent around him than Oscar had...if not for Oweh, Pope's already **** 46-26 record would be an even worse 43-29..he would be 2-3 and not 3-2 in the NCAAT here if not for Oweh. Everything would be even worse for Pope if not for Oweh. I actually feel bad about the bad **** I've said about Oweh.
Very different types of players. Oscar gets you extra shot attempts with offensive rebounds. Oweh gets you fewer shot attempts with long 2s and dribbling into turnovers.
I'll take Oweh. Nobody around Oscar actually liked him, at least Oweh saw a S16 despite his coach.
Is this a real thread? Oweh was really good but he’s not even in the same realm as Oscar

"Dude", this is a family friendly site, can you politely **** off, Redshirt ?!?! Everything I said was facts, Oscar was a great player, no doubt..but he didn't win **** here when it comes to the team. The NPOY..good for him..he and his teams still didn't win **** when it mattered..FACT. Oscar's teams got punked by ******* 15 Seed St. Peter's and K-State. Oweh did better in that department.

What has Oweh won?
Oscar was on a team that was a 2 seed. He also put up record breaking stats on a good team and made himself a NPOY as a double double machine. Clearly the team was very good to get a 2 seed. We just weren't healthy by seasons end.
The next year he was still awesome, but not on as good of a team.
While Oweh teams won 2 more NCAA tournament games, I don't recall the Oscar teams playing on Wednesday in the SEC tournament, losing 14 games (26 overall) and getting blown out in back to back tournaments.
Oscar will have a banner hanging in Rupp for being NPOY, what will Oweh's be for?
Now, that's a good reply, dude. It's still simple to answer though. Oscar won a NPOY and he deserved it but I'm sorry, I won't say he's the better player or at least leader when his UK teams went 2-4 in Post Season play (1-2 in the SEC Tournament and 1-2 in the NCAA Tournament including an all time embarrassing loss to a 15 seed) and Oweh went 6-4 (3-2 in the SEC Tournament and 3-2 in the NCAA Tournament with a Sweet 16 appearence) with far less talent around him than Oscar had around him. Not including the amount of times Oweh saved our asses (Oklahoma twice, Santa Clara, etc etc.)
It wasn't until I saw this that I changed my mind on Oweh. I used to bash the guy all the time and then I saw this. He also became the first player to score 35 points while grabbing 8 boards and adding 7 assists since Larry Bird did it in 1979.
All day. Big O was National player of the year. I wish we’d have had him this season. lol.
I mean, I get it. Playing Wednesday and Thursday games in the SEC tournament for the first times in history and having to play the worst seeded teams, thus having more games to play in and opportunities to win is crazy impressive. And beating the 2 lower ranked seeds last year before getting humiliated by TN, and then the hail Mary buzzer beater to beat the best Santa Clara team that finished 3rs in the WAC before taking our worst tournament defeat in 55 years is truly amazing territory to be in. And then being preseason SEC player is the year to finish 3rd team...how does an AP NPOY, SEC POY, 2x SEC all first team , SEC all defensive player compete with that?
Can we get Oweh a banner for winning 3 NCAA tournament games in 3 years and 3 SEC tournament games in 3 years?
It's easy..don't let you and your team get punked by a lowly 15 seed St. Peter's as a 2 seed. Win more than 1 game in the NCAA Tournament and SEC Tournament in 2 seasons. I'm glad to answer that question for you.
Right, I think that logic of determining everything based off those games is iron clad. Irrefutable really. Getting annihilated by UT in the Sw16 and Iowa St in the rd of 32 is so much more impressive and really determinitive of everything. And all those additional awards....MEANINGLESS!

Did you not see that I gave Oscar props for his NPOY ? He was a beast. And yes, beating Santa Clara on a buzzer beating three and then in OT is more impressive than getting beat by St. Peter's. I'd rather get whooped by higher seeds than lose in OT to lowly 15 seed St. Peter's as a 2 seed. Both suck to have happen but one obviously sucks more. Both Pope and Cal suck *** but one player did better in Post Season play and won more games in the Post Season despite his terrible Coach and having a lot less talent around him.

Isn't really more impressive to get her those kind of stats playing with more talented players than opposed to be handed the ball and given free reign like Oweh?
What does Oweh get for beating Santa Clara? Does he become NPOY for that? Get a banner?
