Lots of coaches win big in one season and never do it again. Golden hasn't done anything outside of last year in the NCAA tournament. He is worse than Cal.Mostly kidding.
I think he could do really well here, but that was a very bad loss. LOVED watching it!
He is a one hit wonder. He would kill it here. Florida is a football school
Better than the no hit, never will hit wonder we have now.He is a one hit wonder.
He obviously couldn’t handle Iowa.I’ll take him tonight lol, he could handle all that comes with this job.
Maybe so. But, it is still confirmation that Golden is not the golden child many claim he is. He matched our tournament record this year with a far better team and playing a low seed while we played a high seed. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy!Better than the no hit, never will hit wonder we have now.
Have you really given Pope a fair chance though? Most if not all the coaches on everyone’s list would have been fired by their standards in the first few seasons.I don’t need a coach who can’t lose.
I need a coach who can win.
Increasingly I’ll shout from every rooftop:
If you can bring in a coach who can do better than Pitino I’m all for it.
But until you do it’s absolutely the most idiot thing I’ve ever seen to have a top five all time coach absolutely pining away to coach here and here we’re pretending like it’s hard to find someone or we haven’t given Pope a fair chance.
yeah Clayton was one of those special players that you cant just find, they had other good ones too like the guy on Golden StFL lacked the guards to repeat.
Have you watched us play? Wins and losses are important but not even looking like you have practiced ia a real problem.Have you really given Pope a fair chance though? Most if not all the coaches on everyone’s list would have been fired by their standards in the first few seasons.
3 years at San Fran - One tounament, round of 64Bad loss, but he won a championship last year. Still think he is a very high level coach.
Nailed itFL lacked the guards to repeat.
My guy he is FORTY YEARS OLD. he took Florida and they were trash, he’s got them dominating the hardest league in the country he’s already won a title and he just had them a 1 seed. Maybe he goes elite 8 or sweet 16 next year. Maybe he goes back to the final four in 2. Maybe titles aren’t easy to win and he’s done it. He’s at Florida he’s not 55 and sitting at Kansas.3 years at San Fran - One tounament, round of 64
4 years at Florida - NIT, Round of 64, NC, Round of 32
Winning a title is always impressive but will he be another Tubby Smith?
I mean what some of these guys are saying is beyond nuts. I’m sorry but yes,It's not like Golden went to the NIT this year. They were a one-seed. The tourney is random and he had them in a position to go far.
I don’t know I think the list should be covering all the candidates qualified. Look at them all and go call. The one that wants it gets it. If that’s Golden or whoever. But to say Golden isn’t a great coach at 40 with his accomplishments is nuts. Then they say we need to see more of Pope. It’s absolutely batshit crazy.I want the guy who coached the #9 seed and out coached and upset Golden and Florida.
Ben McCollum. 4 time JC champ. Worked his way up. Winner. 44 years old

I like that St. John's coach. We should take a flyer on him. Either him or the Arkansas coach. I could see either one being successful here. That is all.![]()
Florida hasn't been a football school since Urbs left, lol.He would kill it here. Florida is a football school
