Pope seems afraid to actually coach his guys.
Exactly. He tries to act like they’re the cool guys, he’s the dork (true) and he’d do anything to be their friend. That don’t work. The HC has to have the respect of the players and he doesn’t have it. Not even close. He’s destroying UK basketball.Pope seems afraid to actually coach his guys.
Was he though? We will find out soon enoughWill Stein was a great hire. FB will be fun for once.
I may read it now. My disdain for that man is unhealthy. But I’m just really disgusted how he’s ruined the program with the two worst hires in program history and had free rein to do so. No oversight whatsoever. That’s on Eli. He needs to go too since he’s complicit. That article does a very nice job ripping Barnhart for being completely out of touch with how things work in this new era.
That alone made it well worth reading.
Sad part is I have lived and breathed UK my whole life these last 7-8 years have really taken a lot of me. This BS that Mitch has really done to the program is ridiculous. I will still check on here but as for following the program as close I have I’m done until we have an administration put in place that wants to make this UK again! I just can’t believe it’s come to this for me. I used to plan life around anything UK.Being a Kentucky fan us such a helpless feeling at the moment. The VAST majority of fans know it's time to move on from Pope, but we are likely stuck with him for another season.
He was the one that said I know the assignment and openly spoke about #9 and having a Ferrari. He has no one to blame about the expectations of the fans.It hasn't felt the same to me. I think it's because everyone realized Pope couldn't live up to the expectations of the UK program or even to what Cal did in the majority of his time here.
I don’t believe this forum represents a vast majority of fans. Even though Pope is in his second year it’s actually year one of a total rebuild. I believe Pope can have great success at UK. Given the circumstances Pope has actually done quite well. Had Pope not had as many ranked wins last year and this year combined you may be correct. Having those wins gives me hope better days are ahead.Being a Kentucky fan us such a helpless feeling at the moment. Which is shameful and disrespectful. To be fair, it’s been like that most of the year. We have fans booing Kentucky at home games.
Well he just killed Floridas chance of another back to back title. There are a lot more coaches than Golden that would kill it here
To who? The program or to the parasitic coach currently holding Kentucky basketball hostage?Which is shameful and disrespectful.
I'll be honest. This forum often reflects the sentiment I hear when I talk to other Kentucky fans in person. I don't think this forum is necessary an extreme viewpoint.I don’t believe this forum represents a vast majority of fans. He’s sooo soft and woke clear as day listen to his words at a press conference. Beautiful/ special/genuine etc who the hell wants to play for Mr. SOFTY. The guy fooled everyone he’s a fraud, NOOO ONE is that way unless you’re selling something you can’t sellPope seems afraid to actually coach his guy
You're right ... he doesn't have the DNA for this job.Exactly. He tries to act like they’re the cool guys, he’s the dork (true) and he’d do anything to be their friend. That don’t work.
