You know if Pope’s teams actually tried, it might be understandable to want to support him. But despite people claiming his teams “refuse to quit” they quit all the time, actually. They quit this year and they quit last year as well against the likes of Alabama and Tennessee. The man is an utter fraud.

That guy is an idiot.

"The 2025-26 Kentucky Wildcats earned a reputation as "Comeback Cats," notably rallying from five double-digit deficits to win this season. Their biggest comeback was a school-record 14-point halftime deficit to defeat Tennessee 74-71 at Rupp Arena, alongside a 17-point comeback against the Vols in Knoxville" also the LSU comeback

That passivity and weak mentality was created by their head coach and AD.

Pope yelled at BG one time this season and you would have thought he found the Holy Grail by BBN's response.

We know what we're dealing with here. The culture here is garbage.
Fake motivator and soft as charmin. Starts at the top with Mr scoreboard watcher. Arms folded or clapping while getting drubbed.

It’s fair to say they didn’t play with maximum effort many, many times this year. Getting so far down early is a problem. Coming out lazy and then playing all out is not good either. The difference between giving 100% and 70% was very easy to see.

It's March, and another team knew we would quit. Because they've seen us do it time and time again. I went to the game. We were down 19. There was a timeout. We came out of the timeout and Iowa State got an alley oop dunk. That's what we were able to do put together on defense with a timeout. Mark Pope's reaction? He took gum out of his mouth.

UNC is going to fire Hubert Davis, who has a Final 4. He lost a top 10 pick to injury. He's not living up to the standard.
Mark Pope has never been to an elite 8. He coached a team of quitters. He's not living up to the standard.
Bill Self is serious contemplating retirement.

UNC will go out and hire Golden, Oats, or May, or Otzelberger.
Kansas will likely also hire 1 of these guys.
Kentucky will wait a year. We'll let two other blue bloods beat us to it.

Earlier in the season Pope said he was failing to get his message across, but he wouldn’t fail much longer. Injuries weren’t an issue then but now injuries are to blame?

This team had many great comebacks. Even the round 1 game they didn't flinch when SB drilled that 3. Today, however, other than Oweh and Aberdeen, this team quit. Was sad to see.
