In Tom’s informal interview after the tournament, he talked about changes and going and getting what you need (wrestlers, but easier said than done) and surprisingly mentioned possible staff changes. I know he wasn’t talking about himself.

The RTC will have more guys competing which is important.

Ehh.. important? I guess it's good to have workout partners for the collegiate team. We have had that before with lots of guys.

I think it's important to have guys that can contend for world and Olympic medals . Right now we have one maybe two.
Can Ayala, Kennedy and Caliendo do that? Time will tell. I'm happy they will be on HWC roster, but not sure they will develop into threats. I hope I'm wrong. They seem like great guys to keep around.

You mistake knowledge as wisdom. Real wisdom would have been able to make predictions prior to this tournament based on what was seen. You didn’t do that. You are a fraud in every sense of the word. Case in point, Iowa interviewing for an assistant position prior to the tourney, but your bat phone didn’t ring.

You claimed March is what counts yet Iowa had a **** conference tourney (which was held in March) leading to not great seeds relative to their actual talent which led to wrestling higher to seeds for some.

Iowa got 4th place at NCAAs. As an actual fan of the program, that is not good enough for us, fair or not.

Petersen didn’t AA. Drake took 5th after competing in the finals the previous 2 years. Bailey didn’t AA despite his seed. Mikey got smoked in the finals, Angelo defaulted out after taking a loss as predicted and despite his ranking coming out of HS. Kueter now has 2 low AA’s to his name despite his p4p ranking out of HS.

Bright spots - Kennedy took 3rd. Cool.
Block AA’ed - always had the ability.
Arnold- 7th place, best thing about the tourney

If these are the bright spots it does not leave this program in good shape. I was trying to not post anything negative because I really was over the moon for Gabe and block but the clowns like corby and msu dictated this.

Nice, sums up the group I go to Nationals with thoughts. Combine that with a very underwhelming venue.

I agree. I know it has been suggested multiple times but moving Terry to the HWC would also be a great fit. It's redundant to have both twins on staff and Terry was very successful in Colorado Springs. Then you can officially bring Mocco in.

Did we ever get an answer on how many Div1 coaches were texting people during the tournament? I saw the question asked but never answered. I would assume Corby had the most but curious on the number.

This is a poor take. PK mentioned it after the season concluded. Most of our guys were more concerned with winning matches.

Our schedule was by far the toughest in the nation. Had we not skipped the soldier salute our seeds would have been much better. If any team outside of the big ten had wrestled our schedule, I doubt many of their guys would have been seeded higher than 6 or 7. Okie State would be the exception

Only one team a year hits their expectations. Ohio State came up short. Iowa State (losing Elam really hurt)and Cornell failed miserably. Had Iowa had the same team and individual results those teams had…,I don’t even need to say it.

83% came from the Cornell coaching staff.
