He just went to bat how great Pope did this year etc. and saying he knows Pope feels the fan's ire. I get it that you have positives but you can't paint this season anything but a turd. Best to not say anything that glowing imo. But it really doesn't matter.

I’ll trust people who know and actually played for the university over some random idiot on a forum.

Goose is so laid-back he’s not gonna say anything other than positive that’s all he’s got in him. He’s he’s not Mike Pratt, which is kind of why we’re in this predicament. We don’t have a true advocate for our program. You know that guy that knows exactly what we need like CM Newton did or Mike Pratt from a different position. Was kind of hoping maybe Issel will step it up but honestly, I don’t think we have anybody. It does seem like the cow guys have kind of gone with him. It’s gonna be lean man. I mean, you know the move of hiring A Bruce Pearl or a Pitino it is actually a good idea for 3-5 . Then we would have someone to be that advocate, especially pitino. It’s a go to idea. I think it’s a pretty you know given all the options. It’s one that can get us back. Let pitino come in 3 to 5 years. Find the next coach of getting our program back together.

Goose is a company man, bought and paid for. He will walk the company line.
Exactly! I sit right in front of him and Tom at the Gonzaga game in Nashville. Their facial expressions and body language didn’t match the sunshine they were having to pump out their mouths.

Totally agree, it was absolutely a failure of a season. Injuries hurt us (literally and figuratively), but JQ was always a risk, and one that frankly like half the fanbase correctly predicted wouldn't work out. Lowe getting injured was a blow too, definitely early, but Aberdeen ended up being good enough that I don't think it was as big a loss as it seemed like it would be.

Moreno had his moments this season but by the end he was a liability. And BG is... well, he's BG. A lottery pick at center would've solved a lot of this team's problems.

It's frustrating because Pope has shown signs he can be a good coach. The second half comebacks, the wins over Tennessee, much of last season, etc. But then on balance with the blowouts, the inexplicable losses to teams like Georgia and Missouri, questionable substitution patterns, recruiting misses (HS and portal), and on and on and on. It's hard not to think he's in over his head.

At Pope's introduction he said he understood the assignment.

He alluded to if he wasn't getting it done, no one would have to tell him.

I love Mark Pope, he is a good man, he will get another year, however he has shown us he is incapable of in game management, he continues to substitute that kills momentum - someone, everyone by now has had to have told him this and yes he won't stop doing it.

For the good of Kentucky, he needs to resign. I've tried very hard to be positive, to think that he could turn it around, that next year a combination of returning players and saavy portal recruiting he could do something special but the man has a mental block and he will not change it.

its really better for everyone if he walks away. He and the team was boo'd so badly that is there is nothing else comparable in our history as fans, it happened multiple times and it going to be worse next year.

None of us want that for him, and he shouldn't want it for the University of Kentucky.

I will say one thing, as absurd as it sounds, there is one person that can make me change my mind about another year, and that is bringing in Rick Pitno as GM. But that is a pipe dream fantasy.

What I will say is every fan in BBN should do everything they can to make Mitch Barnhart miserable. I can't type on here what I really want to say about him at the moment

I heard when he said their practices were laid back and that was just a few weeks ago on Tom Leach show. He has to play nice and basically pissing on Pope’s offense saying you can’t out score teams but have to play defense

Does everyone realize that our best two players had season ending injuries in December. This team is much different with those guys.
Our best player was Otega Oweh. If you want to say second and third best player, I agree with you. Still has to be better than 7-seed, round of 32. Prove it or lose it in year three or we are looking for a new head man.

Givens also said money won’t be there this summer whatever that means. So how will we get players if Pooe can’t overpay them to play for him?

He also said the money won't be anywhere near what it was this year,

Fans, esp. those who are on sites like this, are on an island. There were commentators during Payne's second year at Louisville talking him up as needing another year while his team had quit and were down by 30. Former players, journalists, media personalities, etc. will likely see this as a bad year with injuries included and hey, that happens so Pope deserves a third year. And if we've got like 11 loses next season and get to the second rd again, they'll probably say he needs a forth year. It's frustrating.

It’s a disgusting thing to say. If that’s how he feels, he needs to be in Madison Co calling Eastern Games.

No, they didn’t. This crap is just tending into lies now. JQ was never healthy, does not count. Recruited with bum leg. And who’s the others? Lowe? Who has the worst offensive efficiency when he played for us? Kam? Who you just saw makes no difference for this team?

Iowa State just bent Pope over and spanked him without their best player.

This is turning into just walking dead at this point. I mean it’s not worth responding to at this point.
