***** Kentucky vs Iowa State Game Thread *****

This team really has no excuse. At least you could partially blame 2020 on lack of preparation. Even Gillespies teams played with more heart and for the jerse though they were poorly lead.

Is Pope about to give us our worst loss margin in the NCAA Tournament too?

[BGCATFAN2012]

And a fat joint

I got Michigans best

[ZakkW]

and that dope Jones will still go on his post game show and say Pope should back

[dckala2_]

*** whooping probably saved us a year 4 of pope

[Anon1628387640]

If Pope has any integrity he'll resign tonight.

[Woodrow24]

Well, I feel like an idiot now for telling people I thought we could win today.

[FatCatMan]

Is Pope about to give us our worst loss margin in the NCAA Tournament too?

What’s the largest margin?

[philstat]

Then Jasper takes a step back 3.

He should never be on a basketball court in a UK jersey and Pope keeps playing him.

It’s all about getting his, could give two flips about anyone or anything else.

[Pygmy Sasquatch]

I got Michigans best

You been in my stash again?

[nssdigitalchumps]

Jasper Johnson is what happens when a woman leaves a tampon in for a few months.

Omg, how does that feel?

[UKortho]

they didn't make any adjustments, we were just getting lucky at the start of the game

They missed their shots in the first half or we would have lost by 40

[Farsight Clone]

If Pope has any integrity he'll resign tonight.

I mean he has no recruits next year. So why not.

[CUJO_1970]

Let’s face it, our win over Santa Clara was a complete fluke.

[Henogee1975]

It’s hard to believe that an experienced team can turn the ball over this much.

They have bad experience though

[Bugs092056]

and that dope Jones will still go on his post game show and say Pope should back

It should be quite a listen

[BetterThanYou]

Omg, how does that feel?

Ask your mother

[Tri-Countycat]

If Pope has any integrity he'll resign tonight.

This, if he has a testosterone running in his veins he just has to negotiate a buy out. Be a damn man and do what’s best for the program

[Broker]

It actually was. All I heard before his first season started was “I’d love to see Reed and Rob in a Mark Pope offense.”

Reed dodged a bullet!

[phyrekat01]

Dude, we didn't even deserve to be in the tournament. A lot of people could run us off the floor. The only reason we are in this game is a lucky half court shot.

Oh, I don't think Iowa State is done running teams off the floor. He's got a week to prepare his team for missing their star now by, you know, coaching.

[RichardCory]

Well, I feel like an idiot now for telling people I thought we could win today.

That is what is so frustrating we could have.....

[BleedBlue747]

I’m sure it’s happened but I don’t remember ever in my life being down 23 in a NCAAT game.

• Round: Second Round (Round of 32) biggest loss/points.
• Score: UNLV 106, Kentucky 73
• Margin: 33 points

These memes are awesome! Helps with laughing during another depressing season

[AJG-15]

Cal was a great recruiter and better coach and motivator compared to the clapping joker….

[Eagles_Ball_69]

I swear I’d rather watch Billy Clyde. At least he had Meeks and Patterson who were fun to watch!

Clyde’s teams would at least fight your a$$. They, for the most part, embodied his west Texas toughness.

[megablue]

Aberdeen did pretty good most of the year as the PG but today was a day we had to have a true PG that could handle the pressure

He and Oweh were the only players we have that go handle the ball under pressure and neither of them is without a few turnovers. Everybody on the team, besides them, is out of their league against this kind of defensive pressure. I am thankful we did not play Houston.

[BigBlue1992]

Reed dodged a bullet!

Yes he did!

[TFCat11]

Pope has failed the assignment, needs to resign so UK can move on quicker.

This. Right. Here. Forget firing him, dude needs to resign if he gives a SF about UK and BBN!

[WCSPlayedWRInHS]

This is pathetic. Next year will be worse and that is very depressing. I was never really sold on pope as the guy but I never dreamt he could deliver a season this bad.

[UKortho]

“We will not fail”. Dopey approx 1 week ago lol.

[The_Answer1313_rivals]

THey really challenged and overturned lmao

[Wildcat_in_DC]

ISU executing inbounds play for lob dunks. we cant even get the ball across half court.

[Bugs092056]

No balls

[19CatOfBlueBlood96]

Not even competing. He aren't even doing what mid majors do

[Zuma75]

Oh, I don't think Iowa State is done running teams off the floor. He's got a week to prepare his team for missing their star now by, you know, coaching.

I hope they get their guy back and win the whole thing

[wccat]

Most TOs in an NCAA tournament game....Pope setting records.

[MidseasonTweak]

Another record for UK. Pope is a failure

[BigBlue1992]

I’m not sure who’s in charge of our athletic dept right now but somebody please call Billy Donovan

[TheWyldKat_rivals45219]

He still hasn't learned that squinting at the scoreboard and scratching his head, doesn't help the team.

I would assume that Pope has forgotten more than I’ll ever know about basketball,

but I could see that Iowa State made adjustments, they started using full court pressure and trapping.

On the other hand, I have seen no adjustment on UK. Just standing around no movement and dribble dribble dribble.
