I think this might be a continuation of last season’s “Revenge Tour.”

While Carolina did beat BC twice last season, both were close (1 and 2-goal victories). This could be a payback for 2024’s 18-12 BC win over UNC.

The bad news - a .333 save percentage; the good news — it was better than BC’s .222 save %.

C Humphrey has a career day - 8 goals (most goals she has scored in a game); with three assists, she had a career high 11 points

Eva Ingrilli (4 goals today) is going to be an offensive weapon, a continuation of her brief freshman year (two seasons ago).

Top 5 Longest NCAA Division I Winning Streaks
  1. Maryland (1995–1997): 50 games
  2. Maryland (1999–2001): 50 games (This second 50-game streak was famously snapped by Princeton in the 2001 regular season)
  3. Northwestern (2008–2010): 41 games (Part of their dominant era where they won five consecutive national titles)
  4. Maryland (2013–2015): 37 games (Snapped by Ohio State in the 2015 Big Ten tournament)
  5. North Carolina (2024–Present): 31 games (As of March 21, 2026; tied for 5th all-time)
Chloe Humphrey has never lost a game at UNC, contributing goals in all of these 31 wins, and at least a hat trick in 26 of them. (She also went undefeated her HS senior season)

as you can see in the list above this is UNc’s longest ever win streak.

UNC Women’s Lacrosse Longest Winning Streaks
  • 31 Games (May 2024–Present): This is the current and all-time program record. It includes a perfect 22–0 season in 2025 and a 9–0 start to the 2026 season. It is currently tied for the 5th longest streak in NCAA Division I history.
  • 29 Games (2021–2023): The previous record, which spanned the undefeated 2022 national championship season (22–0) and the beginning of 2023. The streak was snapped by No. 3 Northwestern on March 19, 2023.
  • 28 Games (2014–2015): A dominant run that set the program record at the time, beginning in 2014 and continuing through much of the 2015 season.
  • 17 Games (2016): An impressive streak during their 2016 national championship campaign.
  • 15 Games (2013): A key winning stretch that led to the program's first-ever NCAA title.

You left out Addison P who had 5 goals today. I told yall before the season started that AP was going to make up for the lost of Marissa White. She is the second leader on our team as far as goals is concerned. She has more than Marissa White already for this year and she is behind Chloe. This team has so many offensive weapons that it is so fun to watch. The scary part is that EI is just getting back into form from last year's injury. She is getting her form and rhythm back each game that she plays. Oh, I forgot to mentioned KL and EO. We have a few freshmen that are contributing as well, and we have the number 1 recruiting class coming in next year. This was a find showing by our young women. Go Heels!

It was good to see Zink dressed out. Was hoping she might get in during 4th with a commanding lead but maybe they are taking it slow with her- anyone know why she's been out?

This is very closely held information — Lexi hasn’t even been told yet.
(The only time this info comes to light is when the player provides it.)

What's going on with Tess Calabria? is she out for the season?
Injured herself warming up at Syracuse. Believed to be a knee that will sideline her for the season. Of note, a teammate noted that it is upsetting to have a “starter“ injured in warmups. (I mention this as her role was speculated to be a starter, but this was not certain.) Postgame, there was a shot of Jenny Levy hugging her. (As usual, there have been no announcements, so the above is not etched in stone — but she hasn’t played since.)

Yeah, she is out for the season unfortunately. Jenny did hug her after the Syracuse game. I hated for her, but the good news is we have some much talent on this team and with this outstanding freshman class that just came in we are able to absorb this lost without losing a beat with the depth that this team has this year. Next year's class is ranked number 1 so we will continue to have depth and a lot of talent. I am so glad that EI is back healthy and is playing a ton of minutes. She scored four goals yesterday. She is getting her rhythm and conditioning back each game that she plays. She scored two games the first game that she came back.

Watching the BC game - the best defense is a good offense adage applies almost to a point of concern. Stating the obvious but winning the draws this season seems critical. And I wonder if that ramped-up ride pressure is really about protecting a less-than-championship quality defense. This game was going down the same path as Pitt until BC began winning some draws in Q2. Levy took Gresham out and it only got worse with Rathjen. Then Gresham came back (at the mid/end of Q2?) and draw controls swung back in UNC's favor and it was over. Gresham may end up as the unofficial mvp of this season. Yeah, I know, but CH doesn't get the ball if they don't win the draw.

One other note, how am I supposed to know who the opposing coach is if they don't wear their trucker hat?

Jenny was trying to get Rathjen some playing experience down the road. I do not mine her doing that if we jump out to a big league. If things go south, then we just put Gresham back in like she did. Rathjen is 6 feet tall and that does help on draw controls. She is a freshman as well. I think that is going to pay dividends down the road with her gaining experience and to help build her confidence moving forward.

UNC (9-0) hosts #11 Northwestern (6-3) on Dorrance Field tomorrow at 6:00 ET.

Northwestern has the second most national championships in women’s lacrosse with 8; Maryland has won 14. Seven of those championships were won in the eight years between 2005 - 2012 when Northwestern dominated women’s lacrosse. They added their eighth championship in 2023.

Northwestern went 10-2 in games vs UNC through their seventh championship in 2012; among the 10 wins, Northwestern held a 4-0 record in NCAA tournament games against UNC through 2012.

In 2013, the year of Carolina’s first national championship, the tide turned. From 2013 -2025, UNC won 4 nattys and held a 13-3 win advantage over the Wildcats, including a 4-0 record in NCAA games. Accordingly, the Heels hold a 15-13 advantage all-time against Northwestern.

The first women’s lacrosse game played on Dorrance Field was a 21-11 victory over Northwestern on March 2, 2019.
