  • Seton Hall's basketball program faces a critical offseason after a surprisingly successful 21-21 campaign.
I was not aware of this ending record. I wouldn’t call that successful.

Far and away the biggest issue is money, If Sha has it, we have seen him find players. I think he would run things a lot different if he knew we could score some points. It's up to the big guys what will be but what needs to be done is as plain as dogs balls.

It will be a challenge given they are thinking small NIL funds at 8 Mill. That is chump change when you are faced with the reality of trying to get better and compete against St Johns, UConn and Villanova. And the rest of the BE is loading up their NIL funds too!

Given the spend it can’t be categorized as anything but successful. Out of 37 at large teams how many spent what we spent or less? I’m sure there are some but certainly few. And how many above us in the NET spent our level or less?

Very good article but nothing we don’t know. Time for the leadership of the University to come through with the funding the program needs to be tier competitive in the BE. The opportunity is now.
I feel most here have it wrong. It should not be pick battles if which program is to be successful, the university should prioritize being a leading academic community for its tier level and the fact is is a private/catholic institution while also saying for a mid Atlantic school aligned with the Big East we want to be as competitive on an annual basis in m and w soccer, basketball and baseball and softball. If tennis or golf has a break through God bless

Still trying to get a grasp on student attendance. If they choose to go to SH because of their basketball profile why don’t they attend the games?

And as I noted previously it had little to do with the bus ride to the Rock. The students could even fill Walsh when we played 3 games there. They made sure to gather their tickets but then many no showed the games. I was there and even with the band, friends and family behind both teams benches and the extremely limited seating on the floor there were many empty seats.

The school did everything possible to engage the students but all for naught.
