Does the fact that President Capilouto has declined to come on KSR and explain Mitch's sugar daddy deal bother you ?

I guess the positive spin would be that he has more important things to do than talk to a bunch of juvenile halfwits on KSR.

Now Mitch, he pretty clearly doesn't have anything more important to do -- we would have seen some evidence of that if he did. Capilouto should order him to do it, and answer every question from every Kentucky basketball fan on an open call in segment. .

I’m more bothered that a fan site is trying to get questions answered because none of the so called journalists will do their actual job.

It is perfectly reasonable to expect some answers to questions when UK is constantly asking for money to keep UK Athletics competitive but don’t ask questions about how UK Athletics spend it.

We will all know soon whether athletics is serious or not to Eli and the Board. If they promote from within, they don’t give a ****.
I am completely shocked we don’t have more going on in the situation. LSU fans for their governor invoked, what are we doing? What’s the Kentucky media doing? I’ve only seen one media company even looking into and investigating the Barnhart job. After the swim tan scandal, the contracts, the state of the basketball program? Looks like the guys brought in to stop boosters in the early 2,000’s are more corrupt then they ever were.

Considering Kentucky always seems to elect Louisville fans into office, is it shocking that you never have politicians intervene? Even when it comes to electing officials, Kentucky fans can’t get it right.

As long as the new AD has autonomy from Mitch, I don’t care one bit. I don’t care about any money being paid to Mitch. I don’t care what his new job is. As long as the new AD isn’t Mitch 2.0 and gets to do his/her own thing with the athletic dept (and I think that will be the case), I’m good.

I just don’t see anyone coming to be the AD that is not chosen by Mitch so long as Mitch is here. I hope I’m wrong, but what independent person is coming with the possibility that Mitch still has Eli’s ear.

If Mitch wanted to be AD, why resign? Or maybe the golden parachute gig was a way to get him away from the AD spot. I just don’t see the next person being a puppet. If anything the donors likely don’t want that.

As for Mitch/Eli/ whatever money they make, I don’t care one single bit. Corporate/university/big dollar gigs are shady. News at 5.

No. It does not bother me. Hopefully, a qualified and competent AD can be hired. That should be the focus, imho.

Nah, I'd rather see Alan Cutler get any interviews...

It should bother everyone, from the fans, boosters, and all the way up to the BoT. Those two have done nothing but fleece the athletic department and both of them need to be fired immediately.
Fired 😀 their replacements will be hand picked from within and very soon! Same ole song and dance

I know for a fact that the UK faculty and its governing bodies are wanting answers and are initiating inquiries.

No disrespect to Matt and crew, but the faculty is far more likely to get to the bottom of this than KSR.

Makes sense … I’d guess the highest paid faculty member at UK makes 1/3 or less salary than what MB will be getting.

I honestly don't care. Clicking on this thread is the extent of my interest. Having done so and responded to the question, all I want to know now is: What's for dinner?

It's such a sad reflection of where we are. No one cares about this good ole boy network of golden parachutes, shady deals, and wealth inequality continuing to run rampant. It's a public institution serving the public interest getting public tax dollars. And no accountability whatsoever. We've all turned into bunch of robotic meatheads who only care about their sports teams winning a basketball game. We're all in a trance and they love it.

We { Kentucky fans} have let Mitch Barnhart destroy our program, it is time for the Commonwealth to take our Team back. Barnhart needs to pack his bags and get the hell out of ky. we cannot allow him remain in any position at the University of Kentucky. Its time for the fans to stand up and demand his resignation !!

Absolutely it does. This university needs a complete overhaul. His *** needs to go and everyone who has worked under him needs to as well. There is too much rot in this apple. Time to throw the whole thing out.

Had enough clients through my career where the President resigned only to be the Chairman of the Board. The next President was a yes man for the Chairman or they didn’t last.

I think the one blessing in disguise with the asinine Barnhart deal is the fan and community reaction is so negative it may force the university to hire someone externally.

Or it may force Mitch to say, "You know what? I'll just stay on as AD."

I heard someone on the radio advertising an interview with Capilouto so he is going to talk to someone:

Eli Capilouto joins Matthew & Jimmy for a conversation about the future of Kentucky athletics. Wildcat Drive?

It's actually at 4:30 PM today.
