Any updates on JQ return for tourney?

People need to stop counting JQ as one of the injured players. He came here already injured. The staff knew it, and they knew it would be January before he might possibly return. Anyone count JQ as a starter or was counting on him making a difference after rehabbing a surgically repaired knee was in fantasy land, and it sure seems we have several who live there. So stop acting like we lost something we never had.

Th,e argument at this point, and for quite some time really, isn't about whether he would make a difference. At all. It's about whether Pope has the balls to call JQ out and remove him from the roster for the stunt he's pulling.

Hearing about his knee swelling and him “wanting” to play is so old now. Like I’ve said before if his knee is swelling after all this time, he has major knee issues still. If that’s the case he won’t be at the combine or summer league. We shall see.
Not true. There probably is still some swelling, but that is a perfectly NORMAL thing for players who’ve had an ACL repair to deal with (I had my ACL surgery over 30 years ago and still have routine swelling after hard workouts). It’s not that big a deal. Most players just choose to play through it. JQ chose otherwise.

I guarantee you the “swelling” will magically stop being an issue for him next month when it’s time to work out for NBA scouts.

He made an honest effort to play. If not for the way Sharpe and Cal played us, this wouldn't be nearly as questioned. Sometimes kids aren't liars, sometimes they really did hurt themselves coming back after injury. We did Have him on the court in the exact time frame Pope had said all along. If this were Peterson or Boozer and one had missed part of the season and then actually played the half the season, you would be hailing their coach for being brilliant for bringing the player in. You act like Pope was good with paying him to sit the whole season the kid got hurt.

That’s my thoughts, I know swelling is normal but I’d think with the medical care he gets he could play after all this rest.

You’re an idiot. Do you even watch the games or do you just hate all things Pope?
He averaged 5/game for us. Considering his size compared to at least 8 other guys in the floor that’s nothing to brag about. Hell Noah always manages 2-3 rebounds in his short stints of play. JQ may be an awesome individual off the court, but he quit on his team and that is undeniable.

Injuries affect everyone, though. We’re just about the only ones who make a big deal about them. (At least when talking to other fanbases who note how much Kentucky fans whine about injuries)
Really? What 3 guys are injured on Houston, Arizona, Michigan, Florida, duke, Iowa State, UConn and St Johns?

Duke lost their starting pg and almost lost to Florida state. They still have the NPOY and an elite roster, but 1 guy out almost got them beat by a 15 loss team.

What you mean is, "people need to stop counting JQ as an injured player, because it hurts my agenda"
JQ was brought here to play. It was a bad move, but that was the plan, so no, we're not going to act like losing him for the season doesn't matter.

Is JQ even practicing?

I’ve seen no reports that he is.

Was he in Nashville?

I know Lowe was there. If JQ was I didn’t see him.

Why in the world is he on the bench? Is the decision not to play being made by the team doctors or by the player's agents and family? My guess is the latter. So then I would question why he is even on the bench. The answer might be NIL

JQ is going to hurt our future recruiting efforts, coaches will use him as another example against Mark Pope.

LMFAO UK is the most injured basketball program in the last 12/15 years of any program in the country and it’s NOT remotely close! That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

You are so very right. I'm 77 and bleed blue. I have never heard or don't remember any other team having this many injuries in like a 5 year period. Unreal.

Watched a KSR YouTube video a year or two ago. They had charted all our injuries over the past several years. They charted them by: starters, top rotational pieces and lower rotational pieces. It was incredible the difference between UK and the next most injured team. Like I said, not even close.
