Greatest MSU corner of all time??

I know Banks won the awards, but it was quickly obvious in the NFL who the best of the two was. No offense to Johnthan, who was also a great college corner.

Walt Harris and Smoot probably the only other guys in the conversation.

Darius Slay didn't get picked on in the 2012 Egg Bowl...

It’s a shame Dan’s love for upperclassmen who’ve spent time the program kept him on the bench 1 of his only 2 years with us. It was very obvious he should’ve stayed his jr year.

Banks got hurt and never recovered his speed and quickness.

Slay, Smoot, and Harris are the top 3 no doubt.

Did Banks? From what I remember, we had a terrible scheme issue with Wilson where they kept using lineups and motion to get Moncrief matched up against Niko Whitley, which would have been a mismatch regardless but was almost comical with Whitley still not fully recovered from a knee injury (not that he ever made it quite back to form, but 2013 was better than 2012).

You can argue that nickoe didn't give him the over the top help he needed, but it was banks that got picked on.

I'd put Kirby Jackson in there, too.
Yes he was. And a good guy. Had a class with him in fall 85 when the bears were using Refrigerator Perry in the backfield on short yardage plays. One day the professor asked Kirby if he was the only player between Perry & the girl line would he hit him. Kirby said probably not. Pretty smart.
