..on Pope. Calipari was chit here his last four seasons. Garbage. Star studded rosters of course, but, went 9-16, no tournament. Then lost in the first round to St Peter’s. St Peter’s? Are you kidding me? Then lost to freaking Kansas St in the second round, despite KStates best player only able to play the first 3 minutes. Awesome.

Then lost to mighty Oakland his last season. Yep. Mighty Oakland. Calipari had two lottery picks, and lost to mighty Oakland. Screw him.

Pope won two tournament games his first season here, which doubles the tournament wins Calipari had his last four years here.

I don’t know why Calipari has anything to do with it? Calipari sucked and had to go, Mark isn’t qualified and is setting records at UK for everything wrong. Given millions and millions of roster money, still sucks. Worst recruiting we’ve ever seen. Guy can’t recruit anyone with a pulse. Took Calipari 7/8 years to achieve how many blowouts he has in less than 2. Bizarre press conferences, crazy lineups that make no sense. Playing on wednesdays in the SEC tournament. What does Calipari have anything to do with it?

I mean, I’m not getting it?

Yes I don’t understand what is being said. F Calipari, and Pope still isn’t fit for UK. You move from Calipari and you don’t offer a 63% winning percentage guy without a tournament win in 12 years who never has recruited top players in his life and without ever winning a conference title. We could just do both correctly? It’s the NIL era, Mark didn’t have to wait to built, he’s given millions to evaluate and he screwed that up.

What is going on here?

I don’t get it? What’s this mean? Kentucky averages nearly an elite 8 half the time throughout history. We remain top ranked most of the time, we lead in the vast majority of NCAA categories, and we routinely play in finan fours / win SEC titles. That’s the standard regardless of who’s coaching so I’m not understanding what this all means.

I mean we ran him out over those last 4 yearWhich means we don’t compare anything to it because it’s an anomaly here that got him basically fired. Being better than that is a given, but just being better means literally nothing. Calipari wasn’t able to buy rosters like Mark can. Mark has been WORSE than Calipari’s last 4 years in other ways too, I guess they don’t realize that? Calipari just went to the sweet 16 too wow! He just won the SEC title wow!!! I don’t get what this all means.

I am legit bumfucked at some of this stuff. I don’t even understand my brain can’t wrap around it. I guess I’ve gotten my teeth kicked in being a Kentucky fan due to all of Mark’s blowouts in less than 2 years so I don’t get it…

I appreciated Cal, but it was time for both parties to forge new paths independently.

My analysis of Pope has nothing to do with Cal. I simply evaluate based on success and what he says in both the good times and bad. Love him for what he did as a player here. He will always be a CAT! Year 1 was fun and a semi-success based on what he walked into. Honeymoon is over though. We regressed, period. Leash is short. Pope Fatigue is setting in. Can he rebound? Yes! Will he? TBD

This thread makes about as much sense as the thread you made in the regular season insinuating we looked as talented as Florida and you couldn’t tell the difference with the teams.

Maybe Pope works out, maybe he doesn’t.. I’ve already gone on about he’s been more successful his first two years, than Golden and Hurley were their first two years at Florida and UConn. Everyone just ignores these facts.

Quit getting personal with Pope. Be patient. Florida and UConn were with Golden and Hurley. It paid off.

Maybe it will with Pope also. We’ll see.

7 seed in St Louis is not bad.

Remember, Calipari in his 15 seasons here, missed the tournament twice. Lost in the first round twice. And lost in the second round twice. Despite, overwhelming talent every year.

Hey MORONS, it really HURTS MY FEELINGS when you get frustrated at the guy I put all my HOPES and DREAMS into. I’ve decided my ENTIRE PERSONALITY and SELF WORTH is tied to Mark Pope’s tenure, and I CANNOT BELIEVE some of you aren’t doing BACKFLIPS over two NCAA tournament wins a year ago!

Kev it’s been explained the comparisons to Hurley and Golden don’t even make logical sense my guy. None at all.

Pope cannot succeed here, it’s too big of a job for him. The recruiting tells the story, he’s like 0-25 trying to get good players. They won’t play for him.

He’s never in his life recruited great players. Morning the portal not at BYU. The standard here is high and there’s no way he can do this. He said it himself he’s here to win championships. Look at the blowouts, look at recruiting, look at floor coaching, look at him. It’s not possible for him to do it. He’s been a head coach for 13 years man. This isn’t changing.

Didn’t we lose 14? Or will lose 15? Or is it 13 now hell I don’t know. Hell Pope was some very lucky break away from being right at .500
