Recruits in Action Post Season is over! From the 10 competing, we had 9 champions and 1 runner-up across 6 states (Iowa, Penn, NJ, California, Florida, and Oklahoma).

As we enter off-season, I’ll try to keep updating the thread, but if anyone sees anything first feel free to post! I know Mocco competing is something soon

Now we need to focus on landing some middle heavyweights. Howard, Heeg, Staples, Pickett, Fernandez....

Someone on this board kept saying Heeg is an ISU lean since he trains a lot with Perry, so we will see what comes from his recruitment.

I would be surprised if Howard doesn’t choose PSU because most of the kids from KD are going to PSU.

I hope i am wrong about Howard to PSU and/or the person on here about the intel with Heeg is wrong, because I think those are the best of the bunch just listed.

I would love if we are on Staples though! He’s been doing great at the state tournament and he has a high ceiling. It’ll be interesting how he stacks up against the rest of the field this summer!

Also, Fernandez looks great too! Will be interesting to see who we are recruiting for the 28 class!!

Not saying youre wrong but why would Heeg training with Perry make him an isu lean? Have also heard Howard & Hutcherson are both big psu guys so hopefully we are strongly pursuing Staples & Fernandez

I dont think he's a true 215 probably closer to 205 so 197 might be an option. Him & Luddington would be solid there

Dawson Youngblut competed at USA Junior Folkstyle Nationals in Iowa. He took 3rd with his sole loss being from Sean Hall, an Idaho State Champion at 157 in 6A last season. Final score was 11-7. Sean Hall went down 2 weight classes to barely beat Youngblut.

Hall was 150 all year and 157 had a 2 time champ so he went up to challenge him. And then cut down to wrestle Dawson. He's definitely not afraid of competition that's for sure. Be interesting to see if he ends up wrestling in college he's a SR and will be doing a 2 year mission

Did you watch Calkins in the CA tourney? The kid is yoked and looked bigger than all his opponents. By my eyes he looks like he is cutting to 215.

I like Youngblut and I’m glad he’s a Hawk. Could be a good or very good one.

But his problem—if it can even be argued he has one—is hardly “lack of national exposure.”

I’m sure you’re right. Like Sidun, came here a few times for work outs or camps, get our hopes up, just to find out we weren’t even close to being on their radar. Wonder if he’ll commit as fast as Sidun, or have fun taking a few visits? I’m sure Howard will be yours also, even though you guys are so loaded in the middle of your line up. Unlike Howard, you actually have an opening at 197 or heavyweight that times out good with Hutcherson.

Just watched the 3rd place match vs Konner Larkin (I assume that's one of the Larkin brothers since his name starts with a K and he's very long). Larkin rode Youngblut out in the 2nd; I wouldn't have taken down after seeing how long Larkin is. Dawson got a TD with about 3 seconds left to win 3-1.
