OT: Iowa State-Arizona game yesterday was awesome basketball

ISU goes down 82-80 on an impossible Arizona shot from the corner with 0.3 left after ISU tied it on a three with about 15 seconds left. The last 5-10 minutes were especially fabulous with the teams trading baskets, mostly threes, like it was nothin'. Both play tenacious defense, rebound with authority, and have offenses that are silky smooth. On any given day, ISU and Arizona may be the two best teams in the country and, of course, Arizona is currently ranked #2. That game yesterday was like a national title game. If you just love great college basketball and you missed it live, I strongly suggest you find it on YouTube and enjoy some tremendous basketball and an incredible finish.

I wouldn’t cross the street to watch an ISU basketball game.

Wow. ISU lost. The point of my original post was to alert fans of great college basketball to one of the best games of the year. That it happened to involve ISU was incidental. I, for one, appreciate athletic excellence, even if it involves Iowa State. For those of you who are so bitter about ISU, maybe your venom would be more appropriately directed toward the dictator and his illegal war and his ICE goons who are murdering US citizens on the streets and getting away with it. And if you're that jealous of ISU, maybe you should do what you can to help Iowa reach similar levels rather than be so childish and petty.

BTW: Did you notice the post about Miami of Ohio on this board? Did you take the time to blast that poster for his non-Hawkeye offering? If not, maybe you should. After all, who the hell cares about Miami of Ohio on a Hawkeye board, right?

Then you're missing some great college basketball. And to watch the game I mentioned, you don't have to cross anything . . . except, maybe, your living room. I don't know. Just a guess.

**** ISU. I’m sorry but any Hawk fan that can casually support/watch/root for anything ISU related is a soft *** fan imo. Their existence is a stain on the state and I pity anyone who goes to that school or roots for that **** school. I award you zero points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think most of this board would prefer to stay with childish and petty.

It was an amazing basketball game.

Miami of Ohio is not our rival. I think most hawk fans don’t like to watch their rivals. I watch a lot of college basketball just not teams that we have a rivalry with. This also could have been said under the other games thread instead of adding another isu thread.

Clowns losing in heartbreak. That's all that matters. Hopefully we get to see that happen again this week.

Didn't see the game cause I had other things going on. Good for ISU coming in second in the best game of the season.

Nah we're just done with everyone else being better, and we're going to mock them accordingly. If they can't handle it (and many factually can't) then their programs should stop f***ing winning so much, let alone beating Iowa at sports.........

To post something about a Big 12 basketball game that included Iowa State on an Iowa message board and not have people respond the way they did should not have been a big surprise to anyone.

I did watch the last few minutes of this game while I was at the casino it was a very good game

Actually, I would rather watch replays of UCLA-Houston in 1969 or so, the 1970 Hawks, etc than the muggings that take place now. Izzo, some Wisky coaches, Huggins , etc had their way with the refs and coach a hybrid football bball type game that gets hard to watch because a ton of fouls arent called each game. UCLA vs Drake final 4 game is great to watch and players played positional defense with their feet an not even close to the contact and bashing we have had since for a long time
