If Pope goes 1-1 in the NCAA Tournament, he will have a 46-26 UK record and a 63.8% winning percentage, which would be less than Pitino's PROBATION percentage.

Both Cal and Joe B always stated 10 years was the shelf life for the UK head gig. He stayed an an extra 5 years because Mitch made him an offer he couldn’t refuse but both he and Tubby were primed to move on regardless of the pressure coming from the fanbase.
The pressure was massive at the end of both of their tenures. Acting like it didn't play a huge factor is disingenuous. We all saw it in real time.

As stated above, Mitch gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse (lifetime contract with a humongous buyout ). It’s really not that hard to figure out.
