The unanimous part is very funny, and no doubt disappointing to a number of people here.
It’s not disappointing. I think most of us thought he was going to win or had a good chance of winning. I would have went in another direction.

Get him the money to get two more really good players than we had and see what happens... if it doesn't pay off your not locked in. These are one year deals. Happy for our coach.

he's was third even on fans lists who weren't pollyannas. unanimous really tells you he did a lot more with a lot less.

Was really hard on Sha and a lot of the guys throughout the year, but it's coming from wanting to see success after 3-4 years of no tournament ball.
I got to give Sha his credit. I mean we saw with St. Peters, but he has mostly kept this team decently above .500 ball outside last year. It's a new environment, but it has been proven some programs and coaching tenures can take years. I think with Baylor and Scott Drew it took them middling and even bad years before reaching a national championship.
It's very different and definitely harder now, but college ball for smaller or middling programs are different. I'm a younger fan since 2016, so it has been hard not seeing tournament ball like I used to with Whitehead, Delgado, and Powell years.
It's not over and hopefully Sha winning COY can give some motivation to prove they belong. There very capable getting to final though I know it won't even one simple against Creighton.

Right now to have any shot at an at large - which I know is likely doubtful - we need SJU to beat Providence so we have a chance to get them Friday night. If we get Prov instead, it won’t do anything for the resume so we are back to needing to beat likely UConn in the final. We may need to do that anyway, but a win against SJU Friday would be our bigggedt resume boosting W of the season.
I noticed California were on the bubble and right now losing by 20 against 17-14 FSU. Really one game at a time and it's better to end the conference season with a big bang so got to try to win the BE final regardless, but seeing these bubbles team lose , hopefully this luck can make it a bit easier to sneak into the tournament.

Yes, was not a good night for many bubble teams. Those USC, DePaul, Butler and Creighton games will haunt us for years. Putting aside grabbing 1 of the UConn St John's 4 games.
Brad Wachtel, FWIW, seems not even to have us in the next four out.
