Joy is a beast on top and we know Ryder struggles on bottom. Could get ugly.
Joy is an interesting wrestler to study. He’s freakishly tall for 149. Block is a tall 149 pounder and I think Joy is 3” taller than Block is. He’s not as strong as most other 149 pounders but he knows how to use his length.

From neutral he prefers a low single from a distance or a slide by from close if the other guy is overextending. His defense is pretty standard funk but with extra length. On bottom, he’s not overly skilled and can be ridden if you don’t get too high. On bottom, everything he does is basically built off of a leg ride and 9 out of 10 times he’s trying to get the cradle in. He’s got the weirdest cradle setup I’ve ever seen. I can’t explain it. It’s worth a google if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

If he’s smart, Block will not voluntarily take bottom. If Joy wants top, he can take it on his choice. If Block ends up on bottom, he should probably stick to a quick standup or something from a sit out position to keep Joy off of his legs

Not much to complain about. Seeding looks good. Decent draws. OSU, tOSU, Iowa feel similar. ISU and Neb look more favorable in the middle weights to hwt. It’s tough no matter where you land so feels like nitpicking but here’s my take:
125: winnable first 2 then familiar foe. He’s beat him before. Go get it.
133 & 141: best case scenario and both are at their best right now.
149: like the 14 or 16 seed better than 15 but you never know which RB will show up.
165: like the 2 seed better than 3 but likely same semifinal either way. Just glad opposite MM.
174: like the 6 and maybe the 7 seed a bit more than the 5 but winnable first 2 and quarters are tough both sides.
184: damn wanted the 8 seed or top side but if anyone can do it it’s Angelo. What an epic run that would be and won’t be surprised one bit if he gets it done.
197: Not sure it really matters. Could be worse. Hard to expect much being so undersized but can’t deny he’ll make it interesting.
HWT: winnable first 2, quarters are tough no matter where you land and Yonger has history of crapping the bed at nationals.

Jaxon Joy is the exact combination of top game and length that's going to give SVN serious trouble,it both make it that far.

This is maybe optimistic, but I like it.

I really wish the seeding committee was forced to explain how Davino was the #2 and beat the #1, but was passed by the #3.

Go watch the release show Valenti said it was because Jax was 1-0 against Seidel Davino Blaze and Davino and Blaze were 1-1 against each other. Which isn't even a criteria . And we didn't get the coaches poll or RPI to see how those went. By him saying that tells me the committee voted Jax over Davino

Interesting, thanks. To me that still doesn’t explain why Davino was ahead of Jax last week but was surpassed this week. Davino was 0-1 against Blaze last week so by this logic Jax should have been 2.

Davino was ahead and the coaches probably kept him ahead . But that's only 10% of the equation. The committee decided 133 no doubt
