ive seen enough pope has a 20% chance of getting him now
Plus, we haven’t seen him play a college game yet. If he does come here I will reserve judgment until I see him against top teams
Would he give us as much as Oweh has this season? Maybe not Maybe more. Regardless the supporting cast has to be a MAJOR upgrade or the team will be no better.
He’s a fricken beast my friend. Will dominate from day one no matter where he goes. He’s just a machine on both ends of the floor. Saying that , I sure hope it’s us that gets to watch him work.
I have seen a few highlights but I hope you are right, if he does have a bad attitude, hopefully it is more like Jamaal M. was that will go along with his game!
Would be hilarious if we get Stokes and the ensuing "BOOM!" post on social media, and the rest of the signees are all "MEH".
Pope needs a win on and off the court. This would be a big one and maybe begin to right the ship. It's got to start somewhere.
He's even better now since he spent the whole off season working on his outside shooting. Before he just used his strength and athleticism to get what he wanted now players have to come guard him on the wing.
I'd lay money down on 40-0 next year if we land him. I still have my tshirt from 2013-14
If you are Mark Pope, you have to do anything within reason to get this kid here. It might save his job, realistically
If we could score a dominant player we could build around him even if he has a bad attitude. He will learn that in college he needs his teammates to succeed, then he becomes even deadlier. I would almost forget this season if Pope could pull in Stokes
I find it hard to believe that the "lead recruiter" carries any of the weight it once did... It's gotta be the amount of $$ offered. Right?

Yeah he’s about as unstoppable on offense as anyone who’s played high school basketball. He’s definitely put work into his defense to and is a maniac. Haha. Love watching him play.

weird stretch around Covid where highly touted freshmen just weren’t difference makers. That period is now over and there’s no reason to think Stokes won’t be on the same level as Boozer, Flagg, Peterson, Acuff, and so on.

none of them guys have his body and skills. If they got a body like him they don’t have all the skills he does. If they got better handles they don’t have the body he does. Because Kansas reportedly (rumored) has a self imposed NIL cap of 2.5 Million and is firm on not offering Stokes more. They are fine with him going somewhere else, but if he wants to be at Kansas, it's not for a penny more. That put UK's offer (which has been floated around is more than double) back on the menu, and allowed teams like Vandy to sneak in with late offers and a puncher's chance. That gets UK mentioned again and the Stokes camp back to the discussion table, but still likely doesn't mean we get him. JMI is an issue, but not THE issue with Stokes currently.

That does not make a lick of sense. According to all the recruiting experts, he was ready to sign with UK but balked when got to the signing stage.
Now let me get this straight, you believe that he went all through the process, presumably meeting pope several times over the year but at the last minute he decided he didn’t like pope? and that at the signing stage, JMI had nothing to do with his decision? He just didn’t want to play for a dork. Smh
I am as disappointed in the season as anyone but that reasoning is ridiculous.
