How nasty would things get if, God forbid, we would lose to LSU tomorrow ?

It would get really really bad on all levels.

The Popettes on here will continue to blame injuries and say Pope is gonna win big here.
The Dope himself will give some word salad about fatigue from being exhausted from having to fly to Nashville and will admit he's gonna drive down to Arkansas to watch Little House with Cal to get some tips for the ncaa tournament. He will then be too tired to drive or fly back to Lexington.
Trent Noah is named interim coach as a KY Man is gonna lead KY and KY shocks America by not getting down double digits and wins its first two games to advance to the sweet 16.
Sadly, The Dope has finally found the energy to make it back to Lexington. UK loses to its sweet 16 opponent by 14, after falling down 27 in the first half.

Honestly, it would stay about where it is now. People have picked their sides and most aren't changing their opinions at this point.
It’s not gonna get nasty. Look around right now. This is as nasty as it’s gonna get. We as fans aren’t going to do anything. We don’t have any power to make change. We will be on here saying the same things.
We’ve accepted ninth place in the sec pretty graciously if you ask me. Getting beat by football schools in Rupp pretty well.
Pope has injuries. It’s ok if LSU beats us. There will be beautiful lessons to learn from the loss. Amazing young men and a coach that loves Kentucky.

I think we are all reserved to the fact that this team is going nowhere the rest of the season, LSU or not, and we know Pope will be back, so we just need to put our disdain aside and be patient until a change is made a year from now.

What exactly are you wanting to do? Besides kidnapping Mitch Barnhart at gun point.
Pope is going to get a 3rd year regardless of the outcome of their performance in the SECT or NCAAT. We might as well just accept that. Now have injuries contributed to some of the teams performance issues, sure to a degree. But that still doesn't excuse some of the horrible losses and uninspired performances. We just need to hope he absolutely nails the right players in the portal and can sign Stokes. Next year I believe will be his make or break year. Plus with a new AD coming in, hopefully someone from outside the Barnhart tree, they might just want their coach in there.

I was actually holding out hope he was fired yesterday. I was going to head down to Nashville in the morning if he was.
Unfortunately what started out 6 months ago a positive outlook for the program and coach has turned so negative. My dislike for Pope is at a level that I thought was not possible. I can not stand to listen to him or even watch him on the sideline. (Can somebody get him some glasses so he doesn't have to squint?) There's just so many issues it's obvious he is way above his head. Just how many years do we have to endure him. I don't expect success from his team so nothing can make it worse just knowing another wasted year.

He’s a Billy Gillespie level hire - not qualified. The problem is he played here so instead of having the program drug through the mud for two years, it get’s drug through the mud for three years (from which it may never recover) with the added bonus of watching an old hero continue to fail publicly and brutally.
Through it all the new losers will trot out any number of weak excuses while the program rots. No amount of humiliation will be enough for them.

He’s worse than Billy G. Idk about stats and numbers. I’m talking about personal opinion… I would rather Billy G be the coach. At least we wouldn’t have to hear that pus sy talk from Pope. I’d rather listen to a drunk tell the truth and have a tough team.

We're all frustrated with him, but what's the point of constantly telling everyone how much you "dislike Pope"?
If he stays here again for another season I guess I'll check back next year about this time.. This is somewhere I thought I would never be in my life I used to plan my life around UK basketball and football but these last 7-8 years have really just took a damn toll on me.
A 13th loss? Almost seems fitting for Pope. First time playing on Wednesday and not making it to Thursday for a third Nashville beat down in one season.

Man I miss the old UK. I caught the tip end of it before it changed. I guess the only thing that made me crazy about it was seeing the crazy fans and how much it meant.
Used to be fun. It’s not like you’re doing a chore or working if you care. Just a bunch of hot tea drinkers with their pinky finger extended these days.
every game UK fans watch at this point will just be the announcers reminding us what a collosal waste of a season this was
Coaches don't get fired after 2 years merely for disappointing results, not even at peer programs.
The UK brand doesn't mean what it used to for coaches. With the transfer portal and NIL, coaches don't need blue blood status to win big.
I agree you don’t need it to win. What’s blue blood anyway? If there’s not an actual definition how can we really know?
What you do need is a good coach. And probably a GM in this new NIL era. And passionate fans to start making babies because good fkn grief.

I don't think he should be fired for just the results. The UK problem is about far more than the results. If wanted someone can gloss over the results because of injuries.

nothing is more demoralizing than hoping your team makes a miracle run that is contrary to what they have showed you as a team all season.
