Women’s team gets blown out, men’s team loses and one one Hawkeye in the finals of The Big Ten Championship and loses also.

I know nothing about wrestling but that seems like it will be the norm.

We had about 1% chance of beating UCLA. I don't get how teams keep it close against them.

The men were the only ones with a chance. Again, played well enough to win but too many mistakes.

Of the 3, the wrestling tourney is what pisses me off the most. One in the finals and he gets blasted as a flat footed nothing. Also, I hate Ped State and their cheating ways.

That's how it goes this time of year for Iowa, especially when we got these big days where everyone is playing around the same time in important/tournament/championship games.

March is the time to shine sh** their pants for Iowa athletics. That's just BAU....................

Ehhh, give Mikey some slack. Mesenbrink is the best pound for pound wrestler in the country. He destroys EVERYONE.
He's bonused or pinned everyone he's faced this year. He's a generational wrestler.

Not really that bad a day. Iowa women got beat by a great team, that’s on a different level. Iowa men’s bball showed a lot of fight on the road. Iowa wrestling is just bad right now.

When is the last team an Iowa athletic team, not named Caitlin Clark, won a game that really mattered?!? Not like beating a top five team in the regular season for football or basketball. Iowa football hasn’t won one in 20 years. Losing all big three big ten title games. Iowa men’s basketball, well it’s been zero this century. You could maybe argue the Big Ten Tourney titles but when you follow them up with losses to Northwestern State and Richmond, get out of here. It’s crazy how Caitlin always showed up in the big moments which never happens at Iowa.

How long has it been since an Iowa team, any team won a big ten season title?
People will say wrestling which shouldn’t really count at a place like Iowa, though it won’t happen (for the men at least) for the foreseeable future. I’m sure Caitlin did it. Iowa football tied in 04 and 02, right?

Coach called it to many passes to the other team. Season high in TOs.

Still took the #2 team in the B10 to overtime on senior night.

Yes. CC and women’s hoops in 2022. The women also won it in 2008. Correct also regarding football, although the 2015 team was undefeated in the regular season. Without divisions they would have won the conference regular season championship. Division champs was the only regular season title available.

You're basically correct. It just seemed worse because the women didn't just lose, they got embarrassed. Losing by 51 to anybody is just inconceivable. But they did it. And the men took the #9 team in the country to OT after a great comeback, only to lose anyway. So that was more good than bad. And wrestling . . . for those who care, I would think it's time for a coaching change.

Yeah, I was posting in the moment and was probably more that PSU just destroyed everyone in the finals. Okay, not really but the point remains.

WOW!!! You're even older than I am! And I am (literally) older than dirt.
(Specifically, one of my grandmonsters told me that he learned in an Ag class that it takes 64 years to build 1/8" of topsoil. I was 65 at the time.)

Was that before the build? ;)

When you look out and see that the visible topsoil (age 64) is actually younger than yourself, (age 65) you sense your own mortality.
That profound realization was TEN years ago.
Of course that's nothing that high quality beer can't cure.

Understand completely as we're the same age.
