Blaze literally did not take a single shot for the first 9 minutes of the match - he just gets in an ultra low stance with a hand on the mat and sits there and defends for 9 minutes. Boring as hell.Davino beats Blaze in TB rideouts

I've seen no evidence that he is out of shape. Its his approach to wrestling that's the problem, its just baffling.NO. With all due respect, put me on the 180 degree opposite of this take.
I would not say "not in their league yet."Yes, they are dominant and we are not in their league yet. We really need our young wrestlers jump a level this off season like Jax has. Besides great quality Penn St. recruits kids who buy in to their program.
Head and shoulders the best in every position. He will walk to a ship.It won't be pretty. No one is beating him this year.
Penn St. finishes with SEVEN Big Ten champs. All seven that made the finals won.
Does the same against all high quality opponent. Marcus "no shot taken" Blaze. Complete opposite to their stud PJ Duke. He needs to be called stall on. Holding center is not reason to not call stall.Blaze literally did not take a single shot for the first 9 minutes of the match - he just gets in an ultra low stance with a hand on the mat and sits there and defends for 9 minutes. It isn't really "every call goes their way" if you then describe two situations where the right call was made.Penn St. is so frustrating being so good but also every call goes their way. Minto lost to Haines because of an illegal hold (scissoring head). McEnnally got a powerful takedown in overtime but time just out and so Welsh wins on an quick escape.
Agreed, should start calling stalling after the first 2 minutes. 9 minutes of that crap was just insane.Does the same against all high quality opponent. Marcus "no shot taken" Blaze. I would love for Jax to get a lead on Blaze early and force him to open up and wrestle and see what happens. It isn't really "every call goes their way" if you then describe two situations where the right call was made.
That said, I thought McEnelly had the TD the first time. But the reaction time definition is not much of a definition, leaving it open to interpretation. One ref gives the TD, one does not. If I was reffing I give the TD.
Additionally, I will solemnly nod my head up and down any time someone argues Blaze should have had more stall calls against. It was sooooo hard to watch. He lost because he did nothing to win.
This is one where styles make matches.I would love for Jax to get a lead on Blaze early and force him to open up and wrestle and see what happens.
Jax wrestles like his coach, all offense. Blaze is a stud defensive wrestler, much like Kyle Dake. WE all know Taylor, with all his offense, simply had no answer for Dake. Come NCAA tournament time, Blaze will pick Jax apart if Jax attempts to open things up. You simply cannot wrestle Blaze like that. This is one where styles make matches.
Jax is electric and lets it fly because he is comfortable in any situation and confident he can score. I think Blaze does better counterattacking. He is always right there in front of you looking to take advantage of your mistake. Davino was also very, very conservative in both matches for that reason. He did make a mistake in one, and lost it. No mistakes in the other, and won it.
Forrest will present many more opportunities for Blaze. If they are exploitable opportunities then that is Blaze's path to victory. If they are not, it could get ugly.
Not a bad take actually.Jax wrestles like his coach, all offense.
I don’t disagree with your premise but people are discounting one of Jax’s biggest weapons, his ability to score with his defense. Jax has scored with his insane scrambles from perilous situations. Larkin had a good single to start their match and Jax spent 45 seconds turning Larkin every which way but loose. Of all of the top contenders, Jax is more proficient with turns and back points that allows him to get separation.Jax wrestles like his coach, all offense.
That's a good assessment. This is one where styles make matches.

Jax is going to wrestle everyone with a high paced wide open style - that's who he is. He is also an incredible counter wrestler. We'll see what happens. Also Dake was better than Blaze is. He literally destroyed everyone for 4 years at 4 different weight classes. Blaze is really good, but he's not Dake.Jax wrestles like his coach, all offense. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimesThat's a good assessment.
I can't even argue with you Brother. You are the most positive, upbeat, supportive fan and poster there is. You see only the good in everyone. My bone to pick with Lockett is I think he is his own worst enemy in several ways. Hopefully he addresses the issues that are holding him back from maximizing his talent. And yes, I realize he is a true freshman. That’s fine with me.
Disagree and collaborate. That’s how knowledge is improved.
I don’t mind being wrong, but you’ll have to explain why my mind should be changed.
