Us and the other 70 some teams in D1 college wrestling are planning to leave the NCAA, so you guys can have it to yourselves. It's like the circle jerk Carter Starocci has been waiting for his whole life..............
As a Penn State fan, my goal is to win so much that everyone else quits. Seriously. That's the goal. The constant bitching and moaning about Penn State's success means you all must be dominated to the point of tapping out.

Enjoy it, nothing lasts forever.
Iowa wrestling dynasty, UCLA bb and Bama fb. Just to name a few.
Btw, your school sucks at everything except wrestling. Lol

Thankfully we won't hand our program over to Jim Zalesky and Tom and Terry Brands once Cael hangs it up lol. But, yes, I make it a point to enjoy every national title. It's special what we are doing and I don't take it for granted.

It's very special. I'm a big fan of International wrestling too. The NLWC is also amazing. I hate your team but love the kids on it! All seem like great young men, hard not to like them.

Who you think they'll hand it off to at the time Zalesky was the top assistant at the dynasty program at the time who most people said was teaching a lot of the technique in practice great hire at the time plus he was one of the most dominant wrestlers of the 80s and Tom Brands 3x ncaa champ world champ Olympic gold again at the time great hire. Old sport saying is that you wanna be the guy after the guy who replaced a ledgend

The problem is, quite frankly, tom and terry aren't very smart individuals. They know wrestling technique for sure, but overall intelligence is really bad. Gun to my head, I think Penn State's next head coach is on the team right now.

I think he might be the coach at Oklahoma State right now waiting in the wings and is just starting to build his resume.

I think the wrestling technique has passed them by. We aren't in the 90's anymore.

you can bash there intelligence but they still won 6 big ten and 4 ncaa championships were the favorite for a 5th until a global pandemic cancelled it Zalesky won 3 big ten and Ncaa tittles what im trying to say is after Cael retires you never know what's gonna happen im sure they'll hire a great coach.but 30 years ago or 20 years ago those were slam dunk hires for iowa

They had the most resources in the sport by far. Winning should be the expectation, just like at Penn State. They inherited a ferrari and turned it into a ford. They also won three of those championships with a double recruiting class.

Okay yah thats fine im not arguing with you that Iowa should or could be doing better. But no one knows what's gonna happen when cael hands over his keys to the Ferrari thats all im saying. Double recruting classes isn't that basically the portal now again not saying penn state needs to completely go all in to the portal but it sure helps when you get guys like max dean and rocco welsh to transfer to your school

Iowa has had more AA transfers into the school than any program in the portal era. But, my point was, that double recruiting class gave them a huge leg up at the time when transfers were few and far between.

Im really not trying to fight with yah man psu got a great thing going

Oh we're not fighting. We're having a good and respectful discussion and I appreciate that.

Iowa joined the conference in 1899 and has 129 BigTen Championships. Very nice.
Penn State joined in 1990 and has 131.

Iowa has 25 National Titles across all sports. Quite admirable.
Penn State has 53.

That said, I have a cousin that graduated from Iowa in the 80's and he makes far more money than I do. Not that money is all that important. What is important is how many championships your college has. ;)
With that, I will exit. Peace

They exceeded expectations and I am proud of them.
They didn't exceed expectations. They entered the tournament with eight #1 seeds, plus a #4 and a #6. Very high expectations obviously.

They came close to meeting those expectations, falling slightly short.

They finished with 7 champions plus a 2nd, 5th and a 7th.

Nah, we're not quitting. We're literally just creating another organization and working to grow the sport of college wrestling without you guys.

That's pretty much it. You are holding us back, so we're leaving you. It's not something we're "just telling ourselves". This is the legitimate truth. College wrestling will be able to start growing once again when Penn State is no longer monopolizing the sport.

Deal with it however you will. It appears you've already told us how you're going to cope, by saying that you made us quit.

As the senior citizens and mid-life crisis 30-50 something men posting on the internet like to say................."wHAteVEr HElPs yOu slEEp aT niGhT".

Enjoy beating yourselves off from now on, fan of steroids abusers. 😃

Sports that Iowa doesn't participate in or share any interest in wasting money on like volleyball, tennis, gymnastics or swimming don't count for you.

Try again.

I don’t understand why in the post big tournament interview with Carl and his minions they say that 7 champions is a new big record when Iowa had 9 in 1983 and 8 another year. Is pre 2000 not part of history now🤷‍♀️

The most resources in the sport changed very early during Carls time. It started what is occurring now. There were years where the interest income of NLWC was similar to the total revenue for HWC. That money was used to create several years of the equivalent of ‘double recruiting classes’ kids taking less scholarship money because of ‘ROTC’ ‘family money’ ‘just want to be in the room’ so they could also get a couple of more top end guys. If the post program guarantees are there then sure I will sign for less. Once the snowball starts it just gathers momentum and we end up here, with a dominant psu. To not acknowledge the set up in the early days is not being honest. Now it is just dominating and no end in sight.
