I would seriously love that. He obviously can operate under presssure better. Be able to coach his team. I think if he was head coach he could land some recruits. Imagine being a recruiter and trying to recruit kids to play for Mark Pope. Hell Cal wouldn’t be able to land a recruit if he was Popes assistant.

Man. I’m just looking at it like this: if there was ANY chance at all, Matt wouldn’t be telling people expressly Pope is 100% coming back. He’d be telling people, the same way he did with Stoops. He absolutely knows his stuff on big picture. We have a make or break 3rd year with Pope. If I thought there was a real chance to change coaches, I’d have an entirely different disposition, but I try to be honest. Pope will 100% be back, there’s no question about it. Better to just know now than wait for something that’s certain not to happen. At least for me.
Pope isn't very good but I think even he knows most of these guys have to go. He can't be having fun, and I cannot imagine he would bring back more than like 4 guys on this team and only 2 for any significant minutes.
Been in Utah to long. This guy isn’t Kentucky. We could have hired any other player on that 96 team and been better off.
