Is Oweh an NBA player

He seemed to have worked on his 3 pt shooting but overall, he’s still a 6-4” small forward that primarily drives to the hoop. Did he improve enough this year to be picked by an NBA team?

I doubt it, but he's a really good college player. Unfortunately I don't see us finding a guy who can replace his production next year, especially with our current lack of recruiting.

G league. Maybe a two way contract on occasion. Being a tweener (6'4") is really difficult. Florida blocked several of his shots tonight and NBA bigs would eat his drives alive. Good college player when he wants to be. If i were a a NBA GM I would be concerned about his effort.

Oweh is so overrated here. Oweh likely won’t be a pro for an nba franchise. Bad hands, can’t finish, inconsistent shooter with a hitch, hella overrated defense, not big enough for where he has to play.

Oweh, as I’ve said, is a 3rd option on a Kentucky team competing for championships. He’s a 3 guy with emphasis on defense while helping the team cook offensively. If he’s scoring over 12ish ppg and the leader of a team you are going nowhere.

Oweh is not an NBA player. He’s tried to go 2 or 3 times.

He hasn’t improved any area they told him to.

And he’s what now, 24-25 years old?

He’s here now because it was the highest paying job he could get.

His handle is inconsistent, he doesn’t distribute much at all, and he’ll have a tough time getting that awkward jumper up at that level even if he was able to increase his percentage a little, all of which are extremely limiting at his size. Maybe the dream ceiling for him is to be someone like Tony Allen, but I honestly don’t think he’s on that level as a defender right now either. I could see him being just athletic enough to get a cup of coffee, but I don’t really expect him to become a regular contributor in the league.

Not in today’s game. He doesn’t have the handles or the shot to be long term. He has defensive potential, but he would need to be elite like Cason to be a bonafide rotation player. He is tough as I’ve seen especially at UK, but he is without a 3 point shot.

No. Only so many spots to go around, and while hes a decent college player he’s not a professional prospect.

If somebody could convince him his only path to that is to be the defensive stopper he could be? Yeah. I’d use a roster spot on him. He could absolutely be a lock down defender.
Who's he going to guard in the league?

No. He can't play in the NBA the way he does now. The bigs will stuff most of his shots.
Hell they are already doing that here . Did anyone notice the 2 hand shove he gave the Fl player after the Fl guy ( Hough) blocked his layup attempt in half 2 ? Anyway Oweh's infamous " get a run and crash into someone" doesnt exactly work against men. Or height . ManitouDan

His vision has to improve. However, defense is so bad in the NBA now...who knows?

Short answer… No. Just because he’s the best player on a team full of “reserves”, doesn’t equate to being a pro. His midrange game is the only thing that might work in the NBA… His drives to the basket would end in disaster, and his 3 point shot wouldn’t be much better.

I appreciate Oweh being a Wildcat, but the facts are the facts.

Josh Okogie has been in the NBA for 10 years. Strictly for his defensive skill guarding wings. Otega has the ability to do that. Will he concede that’s the only way he can have an extended NBA career and work toward that? Who knows?

I struggle to see JQ making an NBA roster, when Oscar cannot do it. I do not see Oweh as a pro, but hard to be certain.
JQ's best help may be Jalen Duren having a monster year. A team in the lottery will talk themselves in to him being that some day.

As for Oweh, most team have shooting coaches. Unlikely but who knows. His brother has gone from a bench guy to a top 10 free agent edge rusher.
