Great win, some really tough wrestling from Rocco there. Only small complaint is putting it in the ref’s hands those last 6 seconds. Did he know he had a stall warning?

197 QF Mat 2- #1 Josh Barr vs. #8 Gabe Sollars (IND)

Period 1:
Here we go! Circling & tying up. Barr throws in an underhook, then pulls it out. Barr drops to an ankle & quickly finishes the TD, 3-0. Out of bounds & restart. Sollars is still down. Barr works a tight waist ride. Sollars works to his feet & Barr lets him go, 3-1. Sollars shoots, Barr counters & finishes another TD, 6-1. Barr quickly gets Sollars bellied out. Sollars works to his feet & Barr lets him go, 6-2. Barr snaps & drops to a leg, then gets the other & finishes the TD, 9-2. Out of bounds & restart. Sollars is still down, 1:01 left. Barr goes over 1-min of riding time & then cuts Sollars, 9-3. Sollars shoots, Barr counters, but nobody scores. Barr presses forward. Sollars circles back to center. Barr shoots & gets both legs, then finishes the TD, 12-3. Barr rides out the period. 12-3 Barr, +1:13 RT

Period 2:
Sollars takes down. He pops to his feet. Barr tries to trip him back but no luck. Sollars gets the escape, 12-4. Barr quickly shoots & gets a leg, then finishes the TD, 15-4. Barr cuts Sollars, 15-5. Barr shoots & gets to a leg. Sollars locks around the waist. Barr keeps working & finishes the TD, 18-5. Barr cuts Sollars, 18-6. Barr quickly drops to a leg & finishes the TD for the 21-6 Techfall!!!

285 QF- #4 Cole Mirasola vs. #5 Braxton Amos (WI)

Period 1:
Amos is a big boy. Here we go. Tying up & hand fighting to start us off. Amos shoots, Cole counters & gets rear standing. Amos tries to roll, but Cole stays with him & gets the TD, 3-0. Amos works to his feet & gets the escape, 3-1. Tying up & pushing in the center. Stoppage & restart for a stalemate. Tying up & hand fighting again. Amos reaches for a leg, but can't get there. Back to tying up & pushing in the center. They break, then go right back to tying up & pushing. Amos shoots, but Cole easily backs up to evade it. Collar ties & hand fighting again. Cole reaches for a leg, but can't get there. Tying up & hand fighting to end the period. 3-1 Cole, +6-sec RT

Period 2:
Cole takes down. He works to a quadpod, but Amos jacks him up & brings him back to the mat. Cole works back to a quadpod again, then turns & gets the escape, 4-1. Tying up & hand fighting. Heavy collar ties & pushing in the center of the mat, 40-sec left. Cole with some head swipes & they're back to tying up. Cole reaches for a leg, but can't get there. Tying up & pushing to end the period. 4-1 Cole. Amos +25-sec RT

Period 3:
Amos takes down. He pops to his feet, gets hand control & the escape, 4-2. Tying up & pushing in the center again. Amos tries a snap, but no luck. Amos presses forward a bit, 1-min left. Heavy hand fighting & collar ties. Amos takes Cole to the edge & they break. Cole circles back near center, 30-sec left. Amos shoots, but Cole easily evades. Amos pushes forward & takes Cole out of bounds, neutral restart. Amos pushes forward again, but time expires.

Davis can’t wrestle longer than 5-6 minutes at this weight. Didn’t see this coming when he became the guy. He’s approaching Andrew Alton level.

I remember that.

I think you are 100% spot on. These bigger guys are wearing on him. Probably the reason to RS him.
