I'm not as confident as you are that 2nd year Jelavic won't work out, but I'd like to have another option at PF and make Jelavic earn it. Nevertheless, I definitely agree with your Andrew Carr opinion. That old man back robbed us and him of a much more productive PF. Give me a healthy Carr, Butler and Robinson, and I'm pretty excited about going into the Tournament last season. (Even Kriisa would have added a little value spelling Butler and giving a different look at PG).

Carr would have been big time without that back problem. He was smart, and had a sweet shot. Man those three healthy were final four good, for sure. Butler was a pit bull on Defense, Robinson had that Chandler range, that spreads the floor, and makes you guard, opens it up. Damn I was sick last year, when injury's killed us, and this year is no different. But I would take a healthy last year team with Butler, over a healthy team this year any time.

This guy is really good. Finish player that plaid in Serbia at the famous Partizan. His parents played for Finland national teams. His mom also played in college at UNC.

he is considering UK, Duke, Michigan, Indiana, UNC, Nc State and Arkansas. Considering he attended a prep school in Az I am surprised is not on his list But probably between Kentucky, UNC , Michigan, and AR.

he wants to play stretch 4 but have the ball in his hands and make decisions.
Your last statement should be a good one for UK, since Pope likes having his 5 in that role, it wouldn't be difficult to have the 4 do it instead.

I do think if we added him, we might lose Jelavic. Not saying that should stop us from trying, just be aware of the unintended consequence.

Does Jelavic with a little 2nd year jump fit this in your mind? I think he coulis If he were a true freshman I'd be real high on what he's shown this season in limited time. I would definitely want him back, but the question I'm not sure about is whether he makes that productivity jump where you want him as your starting PF?
If we keep Jelly, I think he will look a lot different. He will have had a year to get familiar with what the US style of basketball is and what Coach wants, he will really work hard this summer and fall and I think we will at least see an improved Jelly that can help us out.

Im also in the camp of we have a good chance to land him. Pate, Stokes and Muurinen all on the same team would be wild. Long shot but 2 of the 3 I actually think end up here.

I sure wish I had your confidence 👍

He might be the 1 thing that saves Pope's job. Would be his best recruit by far. Absolute baller.
is he? checked out a bunch of his stats in the various leagues he has been in. doesnt look like much.....but i dont know if what i found was correct

I just haven’t seen anything from Jelavic to tell me he’s going to take the leap. Moreno has had games he has shined. Chandler last year. Even Garrison and Noah last year who DIDNT pan out. What have we seen from Jelavic to make us think he’s going to be the anchor at the 4 for a final four team? I can’t recall him going off or getting on a heater or dominating for even a single 5 min stretch all season.
Jelavic has been super erratic for sure. Then again this team is eratic and hard to read. He's look bad on defense but against Wilson he did a solid job defending him and Wilson had a poor night. We are so inconsistent .

I'll believe it when I see it. We've "led" for Stokes, Wilson, Collins, Kinney, Rippey, etc.
Well we need to pay one of these guys to come here so we get off the darn goose egg.Landing this guy or Stokes might make the donors more confident for our NIL next year.

If those highlights are who he really is ... we need one of those!
Kid is 19, 6'11", impressive hops and athleticism, nice form on his strike, blocks shots and looks like he plays with a little attitude. You stick that kid at stretch 4 and put MM down on the block and we are in serious business

We need a guy with some attitude...one of those players that every other team hates. Enough with the players with no emotion.

Yea yela reminds me of a soft European guy that doesn’t have tons of upside and kind of levels out where he is. Lots of European guys just seem to stay the same to me. Maybe it’s just the ones I’ve watched but I think he just is what he is.

I also think (on the thread) Mark is going to land a decent player or two, and with money spent that’s the nature of the game. He’ll win a few big game, grab a good player or two, but that doesn’t mean what some think it means. Can you win at a blue blood clip? Can you recruit consistently at a blue blood clip? I find that answer is no, he can’t.

I actually think Pope lands this one reading the tea leaves.
Miika would be a nice stretch 4. Great shooting and explosiveness but he struggles being loose with the ball and guarding pick n roll actions. Both of which can be improved upon over the summer.

Maybe an international summer trip is more about rooster building than just basketball games. 🤔
Between Arkansas and Duke recruiting wise
