I've heard the term quiet quitting...

I think this is the way.

Go all in on baseball and try to be middle of the pack SEC in football.
Being decent in football (3-5 SEC wins a year) and really good at baseball would be so good for the psyche of State fans, that I think fans would be okay with being a cellar dweller in Men's basketball every year.

Because you have ambition.

I have employees that go above and beyond and I have some that do the minimum.
I experienced all that too during my working days. But many of these guys are getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to bank some serious money. I guess when you’re young many don’t realize that or just don’t care.

Honestly, only good thing I can say about this year's basketball team is they let us all know they sucked real early. I probably haven't watched more than a half hour of them all season combined.
I've made it no secret, I'm not a big fan of basketball, but I went to Saturday's Mizzou game and go to several a year. We were down 31 (yes THIRTY ONE POINTS) at halftime! I've never seen a bigger bunch of non talented quitters in a maroon uniform in my 50+ years of kind of keeping up w/ MSU basketball.

I'm not trying to be "Old Man that Yells at Cloud" but there is a big issue with the current HS/college-aged student.

They expect to do the bare minimum while expecting the biggest reward. Watching idiots on YouTube or Instagram making millions, or whores on Only Fans making millions, and now college athletes making millions has put unrealistic expectations on the majority of 16-24 year olds. When reality hits them in the face, it does not go well.

I have often felt that Lebby has just been going thru the process with knowledge that our administration would not fire him while collecting more money than he ever dreamed of. If when he does get fired with millions in his pocket he will just go back to Texas/Oklahoma and get a smaller school coaching or assistant gig.
You are correct, but except for Mullin, and Sherrill, how has it ever been different? MSU administration is adept at hiring placeholder coaches and making them wealthy. If we win, it's accidental.

Yet there are a ton of teams with players who do care and dont just go through the motions.
Are you saying this is what to expect specifically at MSU?
I mean ya gotta have the ying and the yang right? Ton of teams this year that may have problems next year when they have to sign a new batch. I totally get his point. Chad Baker-Mazara does as well
