He absolutely puts a ton more emphasis on analytics than “feel for the game“.Don’t hold me to this but I’m starting to think Pope cares more about analytics than winning.

You maybe could call a time out during a 27-3 instead of losing the timeout at halftime. Inexcusable. You can’t do that when most of your starting lineup has two fouls
He absolutely knows this isn't good enough. He likely thought the UK brand would bolster his recruiting ability - meaning he could show up to the houses of recruits, blow bubbles, eat ice cream and expect them to commit on the spot.
Well, now here we are.
1000000%Don’t hold me to this but I’m starting to think Pope cares more about analytics than winning.
I can't defend the guy anymore. He is now in double-down mode. He KNOWS that the first half rotation is what caused the huge turnaround for A&M. He's doing this "you can't take away my power".Are you kidding me? He is tone deaf.
Please stop with the ‘our story’ crap. The season is almost over and you are who you are.
His postgame comments are about understandable as his substitution pattern.
I think it's the load management nonsense he learned as a player in the NBA, and doesn't it because he doesn't want to make anyone cry.I really don’t understand the goal of the hockey style line changes he’s so fond of. It’s hard regardless to be a legit 8-10 deep, but it could at least be somewhat justifiable if we were playing an 8 seconds or less kind of offense and/or a super aggressive defense to try and wear other teams down with waves of fresh legs. We’re passive on defense and methodical on offense right now, so I simply don’t get it. It’s almost like he’s trying to mimic the deep rotation of the 96 team for its own sake without really understanding why that was an effective strategy for that team.
I alluded to this the other day. IMO Mitch knows he can't defend what's going on, so no need to hang around as admin.Look on the bright side… Pope’s epic failure is probably what caused Mitch to announce retirement, so it’s not on his legacy to fire a former player and Captain of the greatest college basketball team in the modern era, who he hired ill advised.
That’s possible.I alluded to this the other day. IMO Mitch knows he can't defend what's going on, so no need to hang around as admin.
Go on YouTube and watch the hype video of us beating Vanderbilt at home. He says it in the huddle lolThis is pretty funny either way, but did this actually happen? I’d actually believe that this cornball would do something like that lol
