What happens when you have a high school caliber coach.
Well I tried that. But my black lab looks at me and locks in with a half smile. He prefers eye contact no blinking. Then he takes off in a full sprint.
We have the most loyal and passionate fan base in college sports. Even you miserable Sob’s that hate it when we win, because you think it might keep Pope here another day longer, watch every stinkin game. We’ll be back. With or without Pope.
And to add to that.. he does his little skip run gotta dump until he looks at me and knows for sure I’m watching. Like three or four look backs before he gets in his four point arch.
Been watching highlights of Fox, Monk and Adebayo playing together. We were spoiled with the talent level we had here
Talent and they cared. Remember Fox and Bam crying their eyes out when we lost the tournament.
I mean they are incompetent to be paid very well for what they do. They just allowed 6 players on the floor for a FT. Besides all the corrupt crap they do, they can’t count.
It’s funny. Despite what people think, Cal taught his guys to care about UK, even if they mostly only stayed for 1 gear. Pope has had guys for two years at this point and none of them give a crap. Is it the money? I don’t know but I don’t see other programs deal with this. Pope is incapable of pounding structure into these kids.
They simply don’t respect a coach that has no pull or respect in the college landscape. It’s Mark Pope. He’s far from a hall of famer. I think everyone is over thinking this.
He was an emergency hire. Time to hire the real replacement to Cal.
Maybe his personality is the reason for the wild swings in his teams. He’s just not able to have them consistently ready to bring the focus and effort and want-to.
I think a lot of truth to this. There’s just no fire. And Pope the player had a lot of fire. Where did that guy go?
You cant fire a guy after going to the sweet 16 and then back to the tournament this season after only two years. He was great last year. This year he has dealt with injuries
That Seth guy never shuts the F up about the refs.
I get that the refs can have an effect. I see other fans comment about them, but that Seth dude is convinced that we only lose because of them. It's a tired shtick.
We were getting blown out just as much last year as this year. I don’t give a crap if we went to the Sweet 16 when we are constantly getting embarrassed by teams. We lost to Alabama by freaking 29 points last year.
The simple way for us to win games is just swap coaches before every game.
Almost without exception opposing coaches could take our guys and beat theirs.
I’ll give him a pass cause it’s one game but he sure didn’t seem to care tonight. Mo is the only guy who’s brought it every night lately. And he just ain’t that good. But I’d start him and let him play 35 minutes the rest of the way just to reward that. We’re going nowhere anyway with the roster we have left.
This UK team is total **** but they would crush Miami OH. Miami is terrible and scrapes by against terrible teams. They are the blueprint of the type of team UK crushes by 30. I would bet large on UK for every alternate spread the books are willing to give odds on.
Let's hope this happens -- they would need to beat UF and do decent in the SECT to get a 6 IMO. More realistically, they are an 8 -- I don't see them winning the 8/9 game unless they get a slow, white team like IU.
I've been saying since before the Purdue exhibition that he's not a star. I've consistently ragged on him for his terrible attitude. Caught a lot of... skepticism... from the geniuses on this board. And guess what, I was right. He's not a star, he's not going to lead a team anywhere relevant. He's a perfect third option, and I think the majority of the fans have come around to see this.
Whoever voted for him as SEC Preseason POTY is a ******* idiot.
Yep. Been saying it too. He’s a 3rd option defensive guy on any other good UK team. Pope lets him go like he’s John Wall. He doesn’t keep him in check at all. Guy doesn’t even look for his teammates. He’s a pitiful excuse of a UK player.
Then he sulks and starts passing it around like f’it. Bad attitude, he’s been a team cancer since day 1. The day he rolled his eyes at that presser he should have been sent packing. I don’t give a damn what happened after that.
Pope has no control of him. When Aberdeen was brought in Oweh took it personally and he’s been a punk since that day. I cannot wait for him to be out of here and I do not want him back at all. He’s half the reason this season went to sht. Chandler is still standing wide open as we speak and the guy who couldn’t finish a prostitute decided to take it in.
Pope was not qualified. Everybody knows this.
Playing here is what got him hired.
He is learning on the job.
His future depends on recruiting.
