It’s gonna get worse before it gets better, sadly.
In the 36 years I've been cognizant of what Kentucky Basketball is I've never felt this embarrassed. Even the BCG years , which were rough, you KNEW he was done.
To be up double digits at one point and out of the game by the start of the second half is insane

Cannot imagine how we look next season without Oweh and Aberdeen. Obviously the portal will need to save us.
They just don't understand the beautful journey we are on.
Have been for awhile. Program hasn’t won anything of worth in a long time. Lots of excuses are being made, but other blue bloods and SEC programs are doing just fine.
We need elite athletes, not finesse players.
I know these last 8-9 years I just want to pretend didn't exist on the UK basketball front. They have to be the worst 8-9 years in school history...

My question is…. What makes Pope so untouchable??? Injuries? He’s untouchable because he has an injury excuse? He didn’t recruit a backup pg so that’s why he is guaranteed a third year?

Pope just isn’t the guy to turn this thing around. I’ve seen enough that I’m starting to think a third year shouldn’t happen. Struggles recruiting, teams most unpredictable uk team I’ve ever seen. He’s not the answer to get us back to being elite.
It’s screwed up because BCG and Pope have a similar record, but it legitimately feels like Pope is going to be forced upon us for another year or two. It’s insane. Where are the boosters? Where are the former players demanding change? We’re getting crushed out here.

I think if the Internet UK fan base had control over it, Pope would be fired barring a surprising NCAA tournament run.
If we’re predicting what a college AD is going to do—they’re not going to fire him after 2 seasons with a Sweet 16 in year 1 and a tournament appearance in year 2.
The number of blowouts we’re having is enough for me to believe that Pope shouldn’t get another year. Way too many of our losses were by 10+. We’re getting embarrassed like never before.
Mitch's entire job is to make sure this exact thing doesn't happen.
I wish I knew how to highlight your last sentence. That is why I have been out on Pope since December 5th. I’ll never forget that game. Said it many times on here.
Took my whole family on a trip to see the Cats prime time game and we get beat by 35??? My kids first in game experience. Didn’t score the first five minutes of the game? Getting booed with ten minutes left in the first half? Booed on the way to the locker room? Loud boos. 20,000 UK fans booing.
ive been out since December 5th but stuck around because I love my Cats. The level of embarrassment is a first in Kentucky history as far as my lifetime. Was it even this bad during the death penalty?

No I see us saying he needs to go. But the same ones including myself act like year three is the only option. Like no way he can get fired. This is what happens when you let a former player be the coach.

Has nothing to do with being a former player. He made a sweet 16 in his first season with a roster pieced together last minute. He’s gonna make the tournament this year. He’s suffered devastating injuries both years. I’m leaning toward he doesn’t have the goods. But you don’t fire the guy I described above short of some type of scandal. He will be given the chance to learn from this seasons mistakes and make the necessary changes. With himself, his staff and the players he chooses. As he should. We will just have to be patient and see what he does. If he fails we move on.
I mean I agree he will get another year. But it’s bad enough he shouldn’t. He will but he shouldn’t. Yea getting blown out by Tennessee in the sweet sixteen was better than losing the first round….. but this is still Kentucky.

That Kansas blog is just hoping we miss so they can get the all time wins lead this season.
They’re currently down 20 to a bad arizona state team. A&M > Arizona State btw. A&M is at least a tourney team. Arizona State is 15-14.

They have a title less than 5 years old. Ours is now going to be at least FIFTEEN. %%%% I just pissed myself off with that statement.

We just got rid of a coach for not being able to coach and wasting elite talent.
It's a heart and effort issue.
Or are we to believe we had superior talent to Arkansas and inferior talent to Georgia, T & AM etc etc?
