Yes, he could have offered Boozer more and he would still go to Duke.If you simply pay a guy more than anyone else to come play for you, does that really prove that you can recruit?

Or...More leverage for a higher payday from Kansas.
I’m with ya.. I’m still trying to wrap my head around people wanting a kid that doesn’t want the program.. literally for money lol smh ..
Pope landed the 2nd ranked portal class just last year and I don't hear any of the same people talking about that in any glowing way. They saw the results of the team and then retroactively decided Pope can't recruit. Furthermore, he got commitments from the 25th, 28th, and 35th high school player in the last class per Rivals. The 35th best left because he, ironically enough, got recruited over. The same people crowing that the man can't recruit simply say the 25th and 28th best players don't count because they are in-state. They discount the fact that Jasper grew up a UNC fan and discount the fact that Acaden committed but got recruited over. Those don't count because people WANT to say Pope is a bad recruiter --- simple as that, and yes I do absolutely think it is disingenuous. I'm not naive enough to think the insatiable appetite for despair has been satisfied and if we land Stokes, it'll be those same people saying Pope can't recruit and we were the second choice. Don't believe me? You can find about 50 posts of people blasting me on here for suggesting Pope is a B+ recruiter. You have the same people who say "you are what your record is (which is nonsense)" that will also demand you say Pope is a D- level recruiter despite having a top 15 HS class last year and the #2 ranked portal class. Disingenuous? Yes, I think a lot of people 1000% are.I couldn't disagree more.
I'll tell you Mark Pope can't recruit today. If he gets Stokes, he's proven me wrong. Tip of the cap. I think most of the "Pope can't recruit" crowd see it this way.
In posting this, you kind of imply people are disingenuous (and maybe are looking for a reason to not like Pope). So far, he hasn't proven he can land the big fish. And so, there is some validity to the view point. If he lands the big fish, then he's taken that away. And I'll gladly acknowledge he can indeed recruit.
At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is winning. Getting the best players leads to that. I don't really care about their motives or indecisiveness. If he takes our money and shows up on November 10th, I'll be happy to have him.
I like the way you think.Or...
He's been leveraging Kansas for a higher payday from Kentucky all along.
I fully believe the kid is gaming people. But did it start when Kansas was the leader but wouldn't finish? Did it start when Kentucky was the leader?
I think it's about money. We have the money. Nike will help us to an extent. Get it done.
It’s obvious. Even a chump nobody like me could see it.Aaron Torres just said the same thing about him and Kansas using us as more leverage where he visits us just for the leverage and then Kansas meets his Agents Demands
im kinda sickthinking about him trolling us like a Caleb Wilson 2.0
This very well could be the case.I like the way you think.
That's the most rediculous post I've read on here in a long time. Given what " recruiting " is in this day in age what does that statement even mean
