I’d absolutely sign up for this, given the awful injury luck. I don’t expect to win out but if we win 1/2 between FLA and TXAM and then get at least to Friday in SECT and make a S16, I’d be pleased.

Enjoying a win over the South Carolina Gamecocks does not mean pretending the Kentucky Wildcats don’t have glaring flaws. Real fans can want to see their team win and still expect better results. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive.
Just because people were not satisfied over beating the 17-loss South Carolina Gamecocks doesn’t mean they want Kentucky to lose. I don’t give a damn about the mob mentality bull **** on either side or any “faction” you’re alluding to, and neither should you. It is easy to lump everyone together to attack when you’re FOS!
I’m not one of those who thinks the Vanderbilt win is meaningless, but let’s be real. The South Carolina Gamecocks game does not move the needle whatsoever. It’s expected, not defining. What matters is proving it against teams that actually measure up to the Kentucky standard.
Beating the Vanderbilt Commodores is only a start, and Kentucky still has to prove it means something by backing it up against true national title contenders like Florida next week, and by making a deep run in both the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament before anyone starts crowning them. Otherwise, it’s just another win that doesn’t change the bigger picture.
I know it’s a hard concept for you sunshine pumpers to understand, but Kentucky fans demand a higher standard. They don’t accept mediocrity or act like scraping by South Carolina is some defining achievement. I’m sure you blowhards would love to ignore that my post came Tuesday after the SC game and spin it into the Vanderbilt game to misconstrue my argument, making it easier to attack rather than actually construct an intelligible response. That is how you all roll here.

I think the point is missed, some intentionally some not. Mark is going to beat some good teams. He did this at BYU as well. That’s not the issue. The issue is all the bad teams he loses to, and the blowouts he takes. It cancels anything out otherwise. He’s a 63% winning percentage guy and he’s 55. It’s just who he is, which is not good enough to lead the wildcats. Add in the awful tournament history he has and it’s not even near what we should even have on the list for a UK coach.
Mark is perfect for an ACC program like Notre Dame etc. but that’s not what we do.
