Girls wrestling on the rise

My granddaughter started wrestling in 9th grade.
She is a standout in Soccer and her cousin (female) had been wrestling on the team with her brother.
SHe finished 4th in middlesex county tourney as a sophomore (this year)
Her school started the girls team last year when 5 lady soccer players wanted to wrestle with their captain.


RU and womens wrestling is a good fit. How many B10 teams have women's wrestling? I think Iowa does?

Since the sudden surge of girls coming out for wrestling, would rutgers even consider starting a program?
They should, but title IX rules would require an equal amount of men’s teams so either Rutgers would have to add a men’s program or collapse a different female program.

They should add both women’s wrestling and men’s ice hockey.

Equal number of scholarships not teams …. Rutgers already has more woman’s teams than men’s … if football chooses to go from 85- 105 you could offset some of those 20 scholarships starting up women wrestling
