Got to see in theaters. Don’t care if it’s from the 1920’s or something from last year. Mine in no particular order: Granted seen these movies countless times, just not on the Big Screen

1. Original Star Wars
2. Jaws
3. Braveheart
4. Original Halloween
5. Animal House (Personal Fav).

Never saw 3, 4 or 5 in the theater. But all 5 are great movies. Of course there are many from before my time. Lot of Bogart movies.

Godfather
Godfather II
Lawrence of Arabia
Apocalypse Now
2001: A Space Odyssey

Above is if I got to see stuff in theaters that I’d never seen in theaters before. If it’s just top 5 movies that I’ve never seen in theaters, I probably switch out Magnolia for Lawrence and probably something else for 2001 but not sure what

1. Rear Window (not born yet)
2. Godfather and Part 2 (too young)
3. Shawshank (it wasn't in the theaters l9ng enough)
4. Animal House (parents wouldnt take me to an R rated film)
5. Usual Suspects (had no idea it was any good).

I missed Jaws and Empire Strikes back when they first came out, but both of them were re-released in theaters a few years later and I caught them.

Also, I basically quit going to theaters around 2005. Been a couple times sonce then, but my home theater kicks ***...so I could list a LOT of films from the past 20 years.

That’s a good list. I’d add your last three as 6-8 on mine.

1. Original Star Wars is the first “real” movie that I vividly remember going to; I was 6 yrs old. My dad kept me out of school and we stood in long line to get in. I remember going to cartoon movies before that, but couldn’t tell you a thing about them. A couple weeks later, we went to my favorite cousins house in Houston Tx and went to see it again with them at a huge theater and that was an experience. I still watch Star Wars when it is on TV.

Saw all of those in theater. 4 I actually saw in the old Starkville theater in the old town. Animal House I saw in Starkville also, at the new (at the time) theater

I don't think I got to see Godfather 1 and 2 in the theater. My dad felt they put Italians in a bad light and we were not allowed to see it when it came out. Goldfinger I was too young. Wizard of Oz before my time but we watched it every year on the special TV showing with Danny Kay hosting. I don't remember seeing Patton in theater either I was 9.

I’ve still never seen it. And don’t really care to. Not exactly sure why. Just seems like a stupid movie to me.
Legit one of the best movies ever made. You are doing yourself a giant disservice not watching it

My grandma was a big wizard of oz fan so that was a big deal every year. My sister and I would always go spend the night at her house and watch it.
My wife and one of my daughters just watched it in the sphere in Vegas. Apparently it’s amazing

Gump isn’t even the best movie from the year it was released. I don’t think anyone who really follows film would have it in their top 10. So let’s slow the roll on best of all time. BUT…

It is a great American myth that does a great job of summarizing the feelings of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s and really taps into nostalgia. It is certainly worth a watch. It will likely remind you of your older relatives (depending on your age) in a sweet way. And the soundtrack was/is fantastic!
