Why is this not ever brought up by the program. Or university? Or whoever is in charge of this kind of stuff. It’s about time. Program needs a make over. Rupp is cemented in history. I’m not bashing Rupp. Let it be a historical arena. Why can’t UK get an on campus Arena?
For the fans? For the students? For the players? For the State of Kentucky?
give me a on court arena 35,000 capacity I bet it gets filled up. Give the rich folks one side and even more than that. Let them wrap around in the middle some. Give the other side to the students and Bennys. Get back to being a place teams hate to play.

I don't think Pope sucks, I just think he's in over his head.
Statistically speaking, Pope is winning 64% of his games this season. Broader picture, Pope has a career winning percentage of 64%.
That would probably be suffice at BYU, just not here.
I’m for it. But I’d want a smaller venue maybe. If you’re talking about can make it rowdy then ok. It’s just take for a reconfiguration of fan distribution. I think mostly down low. Have a middle belt section for older folks with perks.

We could do a 15,000 capacity and the place would be nuts. You could even put the lower bowl folks in the lower bowl in boxes or something. Like fancy boxes at nfl games. Have them in the lower bowl then have students below them right on top of the court. Win win for everyone. The rich folks could watch in luxury while not being bothered because of sound proof glass and the students and Bennys could yell till they lost their voice.

I talk with hundreds of UK fans and 90% are willing to give him a reasonable period to prove himself.
I do have season txs. I do cheer. Loudly. Guaranteed a much more knowledgeable, a bigger and long time follower than you.

If Pope enjoys keeping his sanity, he’ll resign. Yeah, he might lose some money but I’m sure someone will be willing to pay some of his buyout.
This offseason is gonna be bad. Kentucky fans will be miserable, Pope and his family will be miserable and I can’t imagine many portal guys are going to look at this situation and think “sign me up!” And I’m not sure if I want the guys who do who will probably be desperate or can’t find any decent offers while we’ll be desperate to pay anyone to come here for a miserable 3rd season of Pope’s tenure.

Way it is back here in hills of SE Ky.. I don't know of 1 single fan that's still on the Poope train.. He's got next year to get to the final four or he'll be ran out like Kal was..
Maybe if Pope (and Cal the last couple years) weren’t so incompetent that they were destroying the very thing we love while being forced to enviously look at other programs blasting past us, people wouldn’t be so negative?
Nobody wants to be kicking and screaming while the thing we love is getting beaten to a pulp. Most fans can see from the recruiting perspective that things aren’t going to magically change in another year and want to look for someone else to lead the program because Pope sure as heck isn’t it.
But it doesn’t matter, Pope gotta earn his millions while destroying our basketball program just because. And don’t say it’s the “right thing to do.” Because it’s not.
And that’s what it should be. Pope was not hired to be a 55 year old kid that learns on the job. He was hired to win, he was hired to fix the Calipari issues and bring in final fours. He’s not going to get a lowered bar because we like him and he played here, which is what some are wanting to do.
The right thing to do is to give him adequate time to build his program after inheriting an empty roster. First year to a Sweet 16 battling crippling injuries was terrific. Only a bad 3rd matchup kept us from an Elite 8. Asking a limping UK to beat a Top 10 team 3 times was ludicrous.
Fans that expect a FF in the first season with an empty roster are ridiculous. Only those with a personal agenda or are completely unknowledgeable about college bball are upset.
Injuries have held this season back but it’s not over and they are working hard.
All I say is let the staff have time and health to see what they can do. 1.5 years in with a Sweet 16 is a good start in my opinion.
The countless fans I know are of the same opinion. Give the man the time other schools give their new hires.

Absolutely nobody I know wants him fired. Again, the radical minority tries to speak as the majority but it gets them nowhere as radicals aren't taken seriously.....about anything.

We live vicariously through this team............ We don't have an identity beyond UK basketball................ We demand that Pope go undefeated every year.......who cares if he had three players not be what he thought they would.......None of this matters to the people who cry over these injustices.........God forbid if these kids don't meet expectations of some.............I wonder how many successful coaches would've been successful, if they had been fired in year one or two..........most of them would..........and most of the coaches lusted after on here would be on that list................all you have to do is go back to the 39-1 season...........look at how they complained about different players on that team the whole season.........that faction can never be satisfied!

Do not project your insecurity onto me just because you are satisfied celebrating pity wins over bad teams. Some of us have standards beyond pretending a win over a 16-loss team fixes everything. You are not defending the team, you are defending your own low expectations. Attacking me does not change reality, it just proves the truth bothers you.
You are celebrating relief, not progress, and coming at me instead of addressing the actual shortcomings says everything. What it really proves is 'fans' like you accept mediocrity and only care about the final score so you can wag your finger at others and look down from your moral high horse. I am not lowering my expectations or apologizing for them just so you can have your feel-good warm and fuzzies while pretending complacency is success.
Kentucky Basketball should be expected to beat garbage teams like South Carolina on the road and handle business against Vanderbilt. That is the baseline, not an accomplishment. This program’s standard is Final Fours and National Championships. The moment 'fans' start normalizing anything less and crowning routine wins as validation, that is how programs end up like Indiana—living in the past instead of competing for titles.
