I dont have inside knowledge on the situation but I would imagine that was most likely Riders request- Im sure they had a flight that evening and with rain in forecast it could have been a long day of playing, stopping and than getting canceled like baseball. We with the forecast in NJ Im sure they wanted to get home ASAP before everything shut down. Man it looks brutal up there.

For everyone complaining about the cupcake schedule....
JMU and Coastal have been two really good NCAA teams in the past. No reason to believe they wont turn it on for their conference and be contenders.
The rest of the teams we have played are not good but we beat them the way we should. With dominance.
Maybe Coach had an easier preeason because UNC has the hardest ACC schedule out of all the ACC teams I have seen. We get VA Tech, UVA, FSU, Stanford, and Duke. Talk about a gauntlet March and April.

This team has the clutch gene. Stayed perfect somehow. How lucky we are that Emily Legette is a Tar Heel.

Yikes... we were outhit 33-20 on the weekend to a four-win Boston College team. Hopefully it was the pressure of having not lost yet, but we did not look good against a not-very-good BC team. Our ace pitchers got lit up... Maxton and KRD gave up 6 ER each...
The one area this team has struggled since MSL came back has been pitching. With the new talent on the roster, if our pitching does not improve, we need to make a change from Holub... we have a great ERA and stats so far this year, but not against super tough competition... again, just hoping it was the pressure of having not lost yet and playing tight... but given the roster, this is an important season where they have set a very lofty goal of making a Super Regional. Gonna need a lot more from the pitchers and pitch calling to get there. We certainly have the offense to have a shot to win any game.

No. But realistically it's the biggest issue with the teams since she's taken over. It's year three with the same pitching coach. They addressed it in the portal... but if doesn't get better this year with more quality pitchers, someone will have to take a look internally. I said it last season, too.
Agreed. Of course it can always get better but the staff has made tremendous progress in upgrading talents (including pitching) each year. The future is bright.

Frost has swagger and heat. Parrish can spin the ball. Both hit the corners really well.

Definitely! KRD gets hit in the same exact spot every single time... it's always the lower part of the plate on the right side. She's usually behind the batter, so it's her go-to... just hitting too much of the plate. Maxton doesn't look as sharp as she was earlier in the season... so we'll see. But Frost and Parrish have looked good!
Has there been any word on Harris? I posted a couple weeks ago asking the same thing and it was nothing but crickets. She as a freshman was impressive and I thought had tremendous upside if she continued to develop.

Yes, she was injured in the fall as well. At one point this fall, we only had 4-5 pitchers available. I think her injury was more severe than the others. She could throw a nastyyyy offspeed.
Our pitchers just have a really hard time painting corners… We either miss the corner altogether and it’s a ball or it’s way too much over the plate. We don’t produce a ton of called strikes… we get behind almost every single at-bat… it’s frustrating.
