Which is why the media-based polling has become so outdated: It’s more about dropping folks for losses than it is about actual team ability.Definitely not a true top 10 team...yet. Rankings reflect teams previously ahead of us losing, more so than our performance. Need more from the offense before we truly say we are top 10
I think edge of national seed contention is probably correct as a ceiling for this team unless multiple guys really start to figure it out at the plate, which is certainly a possibility. I’d rather be waiting on offense to come along than pitching.
I wouldn’t call the D1 poll a normal media based poll.Which is why the media-based polling has become so outdated: It’s more about dropping folks for losses than it is about actual team ability.
It’s not like the AP poll for football and basketball, I agree, but it still feels the same with how it’s put together.I wouldn’t call the D1 poll a normal media based poll.
I've seen you mention weather a lot as a reason for teams being behind. Is this not what the indoor facilities are for? It's so early. Tennessee will be fine. The weather had to really set them back as well. It's going be interesting without Toney V around but I have family in Tennessee so I don't have to despise them as much now.
You can pitch and hit in isolation indoors, but you can’t run full-field stuff with real, live at bats.I've seen you mention weather a lot as a reason for teams being behind. Is this not what the indoor facilities are for?
Strongly disagree. These guys know the sport inside out and are very transparent about their process. They do a weekly podcast explaining their rankings. They've been straightforward about not being very reactionary early in the season. Comparing the D1 poll to the AP poll in football and basketball shows a lack of understanding of how D1 Baseball covers this sport. It’s not like the AP poll for football and basketball, I agree, but it still feels the same with how it’s put together.
