I think we finish the season, including the SEC tournament, with 20 wins.

I don’t believe the committee leaves a 20 win UK team out.

That puts us playing a 1 or 2 seed if we happen to win game 1.

UK has broken Mark Pope.

If someone had told me he'd be referring to the refs as MF'ers within earshot of the media at a press conference, I'd say you had lost your mind.

Either this is a "this is who I have to be at Kentucky to win" or its the realization that he isn't cut out for this job

I know right now alot of fans hope its the latter, and I'm moving toward ambivalent, but since I still believe that no matter what happens he comes back next year, I hope he realizes he has to be lean in to the man we saw at the end of the press conference last night. Certainly doesn't make him more likeable but it does make him more of the man who you don't cross in this program.

Other than sc who are we beating? Hard to find the 19th and 20th wins.

How? If we even just win one of our remaining games (which is very possible, if not likely) we will have lost 6 of 7. Drop first game of SECT that’s 7 of 8 and 18-14. Why is the committee buying that trash.
Maybe a 10 seed?

As frustrating as this year has been, dont start the LOD nonsense with me. I’ll not be calling for Mark Pope’s job just yet. Do I think he stunk to holy hell this year? Yes. Is my faith that it can work dropped to an almost immeasurable level? Yes. But we have only had about 8 games of a fully healthy Mark Pope product so far at Kentucky and it included wins over Gonzaga (in Seattle) and Duke. Also, your LOD crap is nothing but getting online attaboys — Mitch or no one else is making a change this off-season. Is not happening. Would I be sad if Pope resigned tomorrow? No I wouldn’t. And I won’t lose sleep when the coaching change occurs, but he’s going to be here another year and I’d rather keep cheering for wins and hoping the best for the current coach rather than making it all about how right and smart I am. You don’t have control over it. I don’t have control over it. Let’s all be pissed together about the product on the floor instead of gaslighting the rest of the fanbase into these pie in the sky conspiracies that anyone in the athletic department gives a damn about how many users bump a thread about how much the coach sucks.

Must be tiring alternating between, "fans have no say", to, "the fans ran cal off". Rafters is a pretty good pulse of BBN. Look at twitter and facebook.

I put him on ignore but am losing count of how many times I've seen replies to his posts, calling his takes "stupid". He's not a UK fan by trade. He's a bandwagoneer that would prefer it if we lose. Disease of the board IMO.
"Bandwagon" of a team with 3 NCAAT wins in 6 years.

I'm confused. What do you mean?
Did we cancel the last 5 games or something? Did they cancel the SEC Tournament? The NCAA Tournament? lol

I remember in 2014 when we lost to South Carolina...........and people said the same thing.

We went on to the final four that season lol.

I'm not saying that's likely to happen here but ..........there's still basketball to be played.

Where's the Julius Randle or Andrew and Aaron Harrison on this team? Where's the James Young?

I don’t know. I’m counting SC as a win. Maybe shouldn’t?

Thats 18. I think we win 1 no one expects. I’m guessing/hoping. That’s 19.

Then 1 win in the SEC tournament. That’s 20.

Is it a stretch?

You only post this post:

“Mark Pope is a trash recruiter. I miss studs.”

The point wasn’t that you’re doing anything “wrong.” The point is your posts have no substance, it’s almost copy and paste the same thing all the time. That’s the way this board will be when the reasonable people are ran off from here before long. I’ve been pondering the move back to KSR+. At least there people have to pay so you don’t get as many trolls

I don't disagree that team was wayyyyy more talented this this team.

I just find it odd that a road game vs Auburn on February 21st is officially the "end" of the season lol.

This team hasn't improved or gotten worse. Pretty sure we were an underdog in this game to begin with. At the most, this was a 50/50 game.

We are what we are IMO. The Auburn game really changed nothing in my mind about the success or failure of this team going forward. And had we won the game it really wouldn't have changed my mind either.

Pope is going to be down, but you don't get to where he is in life by not believing in yourself.

Before the season is over, probably sooner rather than later, someone in the press will ask him about coming back next year and he is going to have a response already lined up - he'll admit to his failures, he'll talk about learning from mistakes and growing into the role, he'll talk about renewed emphasis on conditioning, about keeping players healthy, about having a tighter rotation, about player dedication and then he'll say he is absolutely coming back and is excited about getting out there and recruiting the *right* kind of player for Kentucky.

I agree he has no margin for error next year - regardless how next year ends, every UK fans, donor and the administration has to be optimistic about the future of the program, and if Mark Pope can't deliver that he'll step down (in private he'll be told that if he doesn't , they will break his contract).

That will happen because UK can't admit to firing yet another failed coach and buying out a contract. If Pope doesn't end next year on a high note, they'll work out some agreement that has him walking away with an NDA.

that's my prediction, anyways.

I want Pope to kill it next year, but if he doesn't stop the crazy substitution and continues to invest in players that have a negative +/-, then he is never going to get to where he needs to be. Simply said, he can't be the coach he was at BYU.

my personal belief is the best way to make that happen is to have NIL and revenue sharing agreements that are incentive based and tied to playing time. Then he has the power to use the bench as a motivator. No JQ shutting it down, no Johnson doing his AND1 mixtape routine in every game, no Garrison going hands every time he gets pushed down.

Pope needs a level of control he currently doesn't have with the players and he 100% needs a more traditional approach to the game rather than trying to algorithm his way to a championship.

and finally, he needs to get rid of that staff. If they haven't offered an alternative to saving this season at this point, then they are the problem, not the solution.

Hey now, we can't have posters being reasonable here. Didn't you get the memo? We're toast and should cancel the rest of the season

Pope is the next Hurley. Book it. "He sucked at Uconn his first 2 years. So just hold onto Pope. He could be the next Hurley".

^ This post specifically is what set me off. The majority of those posters being ridiculed for supporting the program, what we all are supposed to be doing, just pisses me off. There may be one or two of those names that are aggressive but I’ve found most of those posters are just good fans and they support through thick and thin. Y’all push this LOD crap to try to force people like those posters to feel ashamed to speak and it’s bullsh*t. These folks are just as valuable as you and I — and they get dunked on constantly for being loyal. And to cap it all off, every single one of us who aren’t casuals already knows it’s a 100% certainty Pope is here for another year, so what is to gain from being toxic as hell from sunrise to sunset against those folks? You can’t have a site with only the doomers on it. Let the pumpers have their role too. Think I’m done with my soapbox for now. Go Cats! Hope we kick some SCAR tail and start a winning streak — because that’s what fans should be hoping for.

It didn’t mine either. We would be the same today had we won.

I don’t know what the line was last night. I don’t gamble.

But it was two bad basketball teams. They miss as many lay ups as we do. They play the same defense we play. Hope they miss.

One thing they do that we don’t us just drive the ball. They foul hunt. They get you in foul trouble then take advantage.

And Auburn is the same team this morning that they were yesterday morning.

Neither team’s fan base can be happy with the state of their program.

I don’t know any Auburn fans so I don’t know if they think they are trending up.
