Taylor Swift has entered the chat. Sh*t gets real this week with the most brutal sport in the Olympics - women’s figure skating.

I have been following Shiffren for a while now and am over the moon happy for her. In this long battle/challenge to win Gold again on the worlds biggest stage she unexpectedly lost her father and recovered from several injuries. I remember her apologizing during an interview the last winter olympics(2022) for not performing up to expectations. She also seems like a genuinely nice person. Looking forward to watching the coverage tonight.

She's very likeable which unfortunately feels rare these days. She battle a lot and Beijing was a huge disappointment for her. Love the redemption story especially after her first two races in these Olympics not going how she had hoped. The GOAT just added to the record books...plus casuals no longer can complain about her Olympic resume being a disappointment

When she skis like she did today, there’s no woman that stands a chance - effortless speed and technique.

Czech are definitely challenging Canada early. I think the US and Canada are on upset alert today.

Anyone check out the figure skating yesterday? Japan is very, very strong. Of the US skaters, I think Alysa Liu could medal; remarkable comeback story and very easy to root for. Assume this whole thread is a spoiler zone, so will note she's in 3rd place after the short program.

Watched. ice skating is like crack for married women, you know that right? I like her story and it was good to see her family's reactions. I have to say Johnny Weir and Tara Lapinski continue to impress. Excellent commentators.

Johnny and Tara are great but if we knew the small details of the sport we'd probably hate them for overexplaining lol

USA-Canada Women’s hockey final at 1:10 pm ET today.
The Maple Leaf-ettes seemed to press the issue more in the first . After 1, no score . Teams are really quick, and some crisp passing .
2nd period , Canada buzzing and seemed to have the better scoring ops . Frankel doing great in goal or it would be more than 1-0.

Canada flopping to try and draw a cheap penalty. Guess they learned that from Cindy Crosby.
